2026 Fantasy Football: Dynasty Quarterback Rankings

Football is not an easy game to master. That’s especially true at the quarterback position. When playing in dynasty leagues, there’s a fine line to walk between being competitive this season and building towards the future. However, under center, longevity usually is the overwhelming theme, which means there isn’t much turnover. Our 2026 fantasy football dynasty quarterback rankings are going to lean more towards the present for that reason. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t look towards the future either as that’s what our benches are for. Now, let’s dig in.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune next season.

Dynasty QB Notes

Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

Drafted first overall last year, there’s a lot riding on Cam Ward. The Titans now have a new head coach and offensive coordinator, and Brian Daboll’s sole purpose is to unlock Ward’s potential. Despite playing all 17 games last year, Ward finished with just 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns. He completed just 59.8% of his passes while throwing seven interceptions.

At 17.8%, Ward’s bad pass rate didn’t do him any favors, and it’s not like the Titans were asking a lot of him. It will be interesting to see how they handle Ward this season, as his average target depth last season was just 7.3 yards. The addition of Carnell Tate will certainly help, along with the signing of Wan’Dale Robinson as a reliable target.

So far this preseason, Ward hasn’t looked comfortable. In his second game, Ward did complete eight of 12 passes, but it was for just 69 yards. Things should get better, but at this point, he’s a buy-low option only. He has to stay on your bench, and it’s too soon to give up on him. That’s why this rank feels like a hedge more than anything else.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Will he or won’t he? At this point, it’s unclear whether or not Matthew Stafford will be retiring after the season. That’s clearly going to impact his ranking, but Stafford still has a lot to offer, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. All he did last year was throw for 4,707 yards and 46 touchdowns last season with the only issue being that he doesn’t run.

If you are in win-now mode, Stafford is the perfect target. However, you should also be prepared to look elsewhere in the next year or two.

Ty Simpson, Los Angeles Rams

From the perspective of adjusting to the NFL, Simpson is in a great situation playing behind Stafford with the Rams. As we look at fantasy football in 2026, though, there’s not much to see. The plan for the Rams is clearly to transition from Stafford to Simpson, but it’s likely not going to translate to fantasy value until 2027. That does mean he deserves to be rostered across all dynasty leagues, though; from a talent perspective, it doesn’t hurt to share a huddle with Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams.

Fernando Mendoza, Las Vegas Raiders

We can’t talk about quarterbacks from a dynasty perspective without including Fernando Mendoza. There’s clearly a lot to like after he was drafted first overall, but we aren’t going to get fantasy production from Mendoza’s legs, which is reflected in the rankings.

At this point, it doesn’t appear that Mendoza will be starting under center in Week 1 for the Raiders, but the expectation is that he’s going to receive the majority of snaps by the time we get to the end of the season. Having made 35 starts in college certainly helps, and how can you argue with 3,535 yards and 41 touchdowns last year with Indiana? I’m not all in here, but he’s the best rookie quarterback of this class and should go on to a productive NFL career. This season though, we might not get much production.

Carson Beck, Arizona Cardinals

While the Cardinals let Kyler Murray move on to Minnesota, it was a necessary move. Jacoby Brissett isn’t the long-term answer but it allowed the Cardinals a fresh start. Even though the veteran will begin the season under center, it’s likely Beck who will finish there. At the very least, he’s a part of the expected solution in Arizona. Being surrounded by Trey McBride, Jeremiyah Love, Marvin Harrison, and Michael Wilson will also help.

After throwing for 188 yards and a touchdown in his postseason debut, Beck has been limited with a rib injury, so that’s also delaying his clock. With 30 touchdown passes last year in college, Beck showed what he can do, but it makes sense for Arizona to take things slow here. This is a long-term play, but given the nature of the position, stashing Beck might not be for everyone.
