2026 Fantasy Football: Week 7 Quarterback Streamers and Sleepers

Between bye weeks being in effect and the continued injuries, locating stream-worthy quarterbacks has become more important than ever. Jalen Hurts is out indefinitely, most likely for the season, due to blood clots in his lungs. Lamar Jackson was out for Week 6 as he is still nursing an ankle injury.

Week 7 opens up with four more teams on bye: Buffalo, Jacksonville, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Washington Commanders. Three of those quarterbacks are on the top-twelve list in fantasy points per game.

Transparency roundup for last week’s article:

Kirk Cousins finished as QB8 for the week. He threw for 313 passing yards and two touchdowns. As predicted, Cousins went over his average yards per game and threw for more than one touchdown.

Jordan Love is coming on strong over the last couple of weeks. He threw for 276 passing yards, threw one touchdown pass, and ran for another. He finished as QB6 for the week.

Jameis Winston was the dud from that article. Winston struggled to get anything going or get into a rhythm. He threw for 152 yards, one touchdown, and threw a pair of interceptions. He was replaced by J.J. McCarthy, who, after throwing a pick of his own, settled in, throwing for 241 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Oh, and he did so in one quarter’s worth of play.

Let’s dig into the meat and potatoes of this week’s sleepers and streamers.

Week 7 Quarterback Streamers and Sleepers

Matthew Stafford, LAR @ LV – Streamer

Stafford strolls into Week 7 as the QB1 in passing yards (1,794), tied for QB7 in passing touchdowns (11), but just the QB15 in fantasy points per game. He may not offer much with his legs, but at 38 years old, he is still slinging the ball all over the field. He gets a gift of a matchup this week against the Raiders.

The Raiders allow the seventh-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. On average, they allow 253.2 passing yards and 2.2 passing touchdowns per game. Stafford has thrown for two or more touchdowns in four of six games.

With the Rams staring down the barrel of a 2-4 record, expect Stafford and company to be looking for a gritty fight to win this game. Yes, he will be playing without Davante Adams (hamstring) for the foreseeable future, but Stafford typically manages to find a way. This game has shootout potential, putting Stafford as a top streaming option this week.

C.J. Stroud, HOU vs. NYG – Streamer

Stroud is the QB14 in fantasy points per game. Though he has been dialing it up a notch. He has thrown for over 300 yards in three of six games. He has finished as a high-end QB2 or better in all but one contest this season, and he just got reunited with Marvin Harrison Jr., who played a handful of meaningful snaps just days after being traded from Arizona.

The Texans host the Giants this week. The Giants allow the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. They surrender 1.8 passing touchdowns and 209.6 passing yards per game. Over his last three games, Stroud is averaging 306.7 passing yards and 2.0 touchdowns per game.

The Giants offense took an odd turn last week, leading to a flat performance on both sides of the ball. Expect Stroud to want to keep his momentum moving and come out slinging. Stroud is a good fit for a streamer this week and has low-end QB1 upside for the week.

Tanner McKee, PHI vs. DAL – Sleeper

In his first start of the season, McKee did not do much to impress or to disappoint. He game-managed his way to 215 passing yards and one score. He did not throw an interception and added nothing with his legs. There were moments that displayed some poise despite his unwillingness — or the Eagles coaching staff keeping him bridled — to throw it downfield.

One takeaway here is McKee got that first start out of the way. A live game is worth far more in experience than structured NFL team practices. With another week of preparation with the first-team offense, McKee could show up with a little more lead in his pencil and ready to push the ball a little further downfield.

The biggest draw, however, is the opponent. Playing the Cowboys defense could be what the young signal-caller needs to build on a mistake-free performance. The Cowboys allow the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. On average, they surrender 231.8 passing yards and 1.8 passing touchdowns per game.

McKee fits the role of a desperation sleeper that has upside based on matchup. If there is a game for a younger quarterback with limited NFL experience to get his feet wet, this is it. That being said, he is a better fit as the QB2 in super flex or two-quarterback formats with a stronger option in front of him.
