2026 Fantasy Football: Week 7 Weekend Waiver Stashes

Welcome back, my little must-stashios!

The bye weeks are here, injuries are piling up, and your bench is hanging by a thread. Week 7 is your chance to show how tough you can hang. Do you patch holes with a touchdown-dependent flier, or stash a league-winner waiting in the wings? We will take a look at who can help you this week and who might be someone who will provide huge value down the road.

The best waiver additions usually happen before Sunday’s games; let’s add some depth to those benches now.

NOTE: If for some strange reason Germie Bernard is still on your waiver wire, add him now; that is correct before you even read the rest of this article. He is right at 50% rostered across platforms, so I do not have him in here, but he should be rostered in 90% of leagues. You will not catch anything from Germie, but he will catch passes.

Week 7 Weekend Waiver Wire

Quarterbacks

JJ McCarthy, New York Giants

JJ came in and played the final minutes for the Giants. He has 243 yards and a touchdown in less than 8 minutes of play. He peppered Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely with targets in that stretch. I don’t think he is a good quarterback, but if he does this weekly, he will be a good fantasy quarterback. We want you to find your inner Jameis Winston, JJ; can you do that for us?

Other quarterbacks to consider

  • Michael Penix, Atlanta Falcons: 225 yards, 3 TDs
  • Tanner McKee, Philadelphia Eagles: 215 yards, TD

Quarterback Notes: Looks like McCarthy might play similar to Winston, which could be fun. Penix is a solid add; I think he will always be a floor play, and that’s what gets me going. McKee is interesting because he wasn’t horrible, and the Eagles’ next three opponents are the Cowboys, Commanders, and Giants, all teams that allow lots of fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks.

Running Backs

Bam Knight, Arizona Cardinals

Knight came up big for the Cardinals in Week 6 with Jeremiyah Love out. He carried the ball 15 times for 80 yards on the ground. Through the air, Knight caught 2 passes for 18 yards.

Samaje Perine, Cincinnati Bengals

Perine saw 51% of the offense snaps in Week 5. That’s the most he’s played this season. I touched the ball 16 times. 14 carries for 68 yards and 2 receptions for 10 yards and a touchdown. This is still Chase Brown’s backfield. Perine showed us that he is still a valuable handcuff.

Other running backs to consider:

  • Tyrone Tracy, New York Giants: 6 carries, 18 yards, TD; 3 targets, 2 receptions, 27 yards, TD receiving
  • Jawhar Jordan, Houston Texans: 6 carries, 43 yards, TD; 1 target, 1 reception, 7 yards
  • Pierre Strong, Green Bay Packers: 11 carries, 28 yards; 6 targets, 5 receptions, 39 yards
  • Kendre Miller, New Orleans Saints: 20 carries, 70 yards; 2 targets, 2 receptions, 0 yards receiving

Running Back Notes: Perine is a nice speculative addition, but he might eat into Chase Brown’s role. Bam Knight was shockingly the guy for Arizona with Love out. Tracy may or may not have a role moving forward. Strong is an avoid I felt I needed to tell you about. Jordan may carve out a role for Houston. Miller could still produce, but with Kamara back in the lineup, the volume is unlikely.

Wide Receivers

Jaylin Noel, Houston Texans

Noel has emerged as the complementary receiver to Nico Collins in Houston. He has three straight weeks of double-digit fantasy points. In Week 6, he caught 4 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown on 4 targets. I like him more if you play in a league where he also gets fantasy points for his return yards (yes, I play in two leagues like this), but I would consider him an add anywhere. Houston plays some really weak pass defenses the rest of the way.

Brandin Cooks, San Francisco 49ers

The substation is taking out the Niners’ wide receivers like the black plague in medieval Europe. If Mike Evan is out this week, Cooks become the number 1 wideout in this offense. He has only 2 receptions this season, yet he could be a nice plug-and-play in Week 7.

Other Wide Receivers to Consider

  • Jahan Dotson, Atlanta Falcons: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 87 yards, TD
  • Ryan Flournoy, Dallas Cowboys: 9 targets, 7 receptions, 40 yards, TD
  • Keenan Allen, Indianapolis Colts: 11 targets, 8 receptions, 82 yards
  • Konata Mumpfield, Los Angeles Rams: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 15 yards

Wide Receiver Notes: Noel is defining a role for himself in an offense with an easy schedule for the rest of the season. Cooks may be the only veteran WR playing for the Niners. Flournoy and Dotson are carving out limited roles in their offenses; nothing to get excited about yet.  In PPR, I would look to add Keenan Allen because of the target volume he is seeing. If Puka Nacua is out, Mumpfield is a must-add; he is a great stash right now just to see how things play out with Adams on IR.

Tight Ends

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Muth struggled some in Week 6. He saw only 3 targets, which he turned into 2 receptions for 11 yards. In Week 7, he faces a Saints defense that gives up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Overall, he has a 13% target share on the season; this is a good week for him to produce.

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

In Week 6, Higbee caught 4 of 4 targets for 22 yards. Ho, hum. But in Week 7 the Rams will be without Davante Adams, and Puka Nacua is dinged up. He is on the field a lot, 83% of the snaps in Week 6. I like him and Colby Parkinson to pick up some of the slack this week.

Other Tight Ends to Consider

  • Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders: 9 targets, 7 receptions, 95 yards
  • Mason Taylor, New York Jets: 6 targets, 4 receptions, 33 yards
  • Colby Parkinson, Los Angeles Rams: 6 targets, 5 receptions, 31 yards, TD
  • Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams: 4 targets, 4 receptions, 22 yards
  • Chig Okonkwo, Washington Commanders: 7 targets, 7 receptions, 69 yards

Tight End Notes: Mayer has some standalone value, but when and where he produces is anyone’s guess. Higbee and Parkinson should be the top additions at tight end this week as they may return the most value over the next 4 weeks or so. Chig is a very nice stash with no game this week, he became the primary target once Terry McLaurin was injured in the Commanders offense.

My Top 10 Waiver Priority Order

  1. Jaylin Noel — WR
  2. Keenan Allen — WR
  3. Chig Okonkwo – TE
  4. Bam Knight — RB
  5. Tyler Higbee — TE
  6. Konata Mumpfield — WR
  7. Colby Parkinson — TE
  8. Samaje Perine — RB
  9. Ryan Flournoy — WR
  10. Tanner McKee — QB
  11. Michael Penix — QB
