Week 7 is here! This is the halfway point for the fantasy football season. Some of you are 2-4, or maybe even worse. Yes, that’s right, I am here for your doom and gloom. Remember, your season is not over; you can climb out of that hole. It all starts this week. This is the week you turn it around and push back into the playoffs.
To fetch a winning lineup,
With bye weeks here and injuries near,
They had to get their sign-up.
The Cowboys’ secondary is a myth!
Though Jalen’s out and Tanner’s at the helm,
DeVonta rules the target realm!”
Let’s move on to wide receivers and tight ends for your Week 6 starts and sits.

Week 7 Starts and Sits
Wide Receiver Starts
Malik Nabers, New York Giants
The Houston Texans are up in Week 7. The Texans give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Nabers has 35 targets over the past two games. 30% of Giants passes go his way. He also has over 100 receiving yards in 3 straight games. He caught 12 passes for 165 yards in Week 6. The Texans give up 14 receptions, 195 yards, and a touchdown per week to wide receivers.
Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers
Golden has seen 57 targets this season. That is 25% of all Packers targets. The passing tree in Green Bay starts with Golden and Christian Watson (Play him too). In Week 6, Golden had 13 targets (most on the team), 6 receptions, 104 yards, and a touchdown. This week the Packers play the Lions, who give up the third-most fantasy points to opposing team wide receivers. The Packers do not run the ball well. This is a golden opportunity for Matthew. (I have waited all season to use this one)
CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
Lamb didn’t have his best fantasy day in Week 6. He caught 9 passes for 70 yards on 18 targets. The Cowboys pass the ball on 66% of their plays this season, which is the most in the NFL. They will throw a lot, and Lamb is currently the season’s overall WR2. To top it all off, the Cowboys play the Eagles, who give up the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Play your Cowboys wideouts; that includes George Pickens and Ryan Flounory.
Other wide receiver starts
DeVonta Smith is seeing a huge volume of passes in the Eagles offense and gets the Cowboys defense that cannot stop the pass. Brandin Cooks looks like a major part of the Niners offense in Week 7, with their wide receiver injuries and a matchup against a Falcons defense that gives up the 8th most fantasy points to wide receivers. Carnell Tate has been getting the volume in Tennessee and has a favorable matchup against the Browns this week.

Wide Receivers Sits
Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
He plays with a great quarterback, and he should be the top option in the Chiefs’ pass game. That’s correct; here’s the but: the Seahawks are up in Week 7 and give up the second-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. I would not expect a great day from Worthy in Week 7. Watch as Kenneth Walker receives massive touches out of the backfield.
Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders
I know you saw Tucker take off like a rocket ship in Week 6. He had 5 receptions, 97 yards, and 2 touchdowns in Week 6 against the Bills. Well, Tucker comes crashing back to earth in Week 7. The Raiders play the Rams, and the Rams give up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Not a single player has topped 80 yards receiving against the Rams defense. If you think Tucker is hot, you are incorrect; he is simply a good or bad matchup play. The matchup is bad in Week 7, so please do not play him.
Garrett Wilson, New York Giants
I know you were hoping Wilson bounces back with a great Week 7 game. Unfortunately for you, the Jets play the Dolphins, and the Dolphins do one thing right: They defend wide receivers well. The Dolphins give up the third-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. It is a run-funnel defense.
Other wide receiver matchup concerns
Keenan Allen has a really tough matchup against the Vikings defense. Tre Tucker will come crashing back to earth against the Rams defense. Chris Olave and the Saints wide receivers will continue to get volume, but they’ll face the Steelers defense, which gives up the sixth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers.

Tight End Starts
AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks
When the matchup is right, Barner tends to deliver. This week the matchup is right. The Chiefs are up, and they defend wide receivers well but not tight ends. Kansas City gives up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. In his two games against bottom-feeding defenses this season, Barner has either over 60 yards or a touchdown. If the matchup fits, you must not sit AJ Barner.
Mason Taylor, New York Jets
We mentioned that the Jets play the Dolphins, and the Dolphins defend wide receivers well. The Dolphins do not defend tight ends well. The Dolphins give up the third most fantasy points to the position. Taylor is back and saw the second-most targets on the Jets in Week 6, with 6 targets. That was a 20% target share. The Volume will be there in a great matchup.
Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers
We have already established you can pass on the Lions. Everyone who catches passes gets a chance to eat against the Lions. The Lions give up the most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends. Kraft is third on the Packers in targets and gets a soft matchup this week. Through 5 games, tight ends have caught 9 touchdowns against the Lions. Kraft has a good chance to do that in Week 7.
Other tight end starts:
Tight ends are catching touchdowns against the Cardinals this season; the Cardinals have given up 5 touchdowns to tight ends in their last 4 games, so Evan Engram has a chance. Pat Freiermuth faces a Saints defense that gives up the 6th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. I really like George Kittle to see huge volume, since the Niners are so banged up at wide receiver. His matchup against the Falcons is also good.
Tight End Sits
Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
Warren just had a huge game in Week 6. That was Week 6, and this is Week 7. In Week 7, the Colts play the Vikings. The Vikings’ defense is good; it gives up the fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends. The Colts offense doesn’t look great, and the matchup is bad.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
I had Pitts here last week, and he delivered a 2-touchdown day. This week, he faces a Niners defense that gives up the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Trusting Pitts has been hard; he always seems to break our hearts. If you are playing him this week, you might want to go buy some tissues now.
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Mr. Swift has had some flashes this season where he looks young and refreshed. But he isn’t young or refreshed; those are just flashes of a past self. The matchup against the Seahawks is also tough this week, as the Seahawks give up the fourth-fewest fantasy points at the position. He could have overcome the bad matchup, but that day is gone. The shadow of what Travis Kelce was will loom again in Week 7.
Volume identifies the opportunity. The matchup determines whether to attack it.
