Week 8 could be a tough week for fantasy managers who need a tight end. George Kittle, Isaiah Likely, Juwan Johnson, and Dalton Schultz are all on bye, leaving plenty of teams searching for help on the waiver wire.
The good news is that there are still some options worth considering. Whether you need a temporary starter or want to get ahead of the competition before a player gets popular, here are my favorite tight end streamers and sleepers to target for Week 8.

Week 8 Tight End Streamers
Brenton Strange
Strange might have slipped under the radar while Jacksonville was on bye, but I’m not forgetting what he was doing before the break. Over his previous three games, Strange hauled in 19 catches for 207 yards while averaging 7.7 targets per game. He also finished as a top-10 fantasy tight end in two of those three contests.
That’s the type of production fantasy managers should be looking for, especially in PPR leagues. Strange was starting to establish himself as a reliable option before getting a week off to rest.
Now he gets a matchup against Indianapolis, a defense that has struggled to consistently stop the passing game. With four notable tight ends unavailable this week, Strange should be near the top of your waiver-wire targets if he’s still available in your league.
Chigoziem Okonkwo
Chig is another tight end worth adding as his role in the passing game continues to grow. After a quiet stretch earlier in the season, he’s starting to find his footing, recording 11 catches for 129 yards over his last two appearances.
The return of quarterback Jayden Daniels has helped Okonkwo’s fantasy outlook, and Terry McLaurin’s season-ending injury could open the door for more opportunities in Washington’s passing attack. With McLaurin out, the Commanders will need other playmakers to step up.
Okonkwo is coming off back-to-back games with at least 60 receiving yards and should have some momentum heading into Week 8. He’ll face a Philadelphia defense dealing with injuries and playing on short rest. It’s not a matchup without risk, but Okonkwo has shown enough recently to deserve consideration as a streaming option.
Week 8 Tight End Sleepers
Greg Dulcich
Dulcich has been a little inconsistent this season, but he’s starting to show some potential as a PPR option. He’s recorded at least four catches in three of his last four games, although he did finish one of those contests without a reception.
Dulcich also led Miami with a 24% target share in Week 7 after posting a 21% share in Week 5. Those numbers suggest the Dolphins are willing to get him involved in the passing game.
Did you see him running up and down the field against the Jets? Dulcich finished with 86 receiving yards, his highest single-game total since his rookie season back in 2022.
I’m not ready to buy into him as a reliable weekly starter just yet. Miami’s run-first approach could limit his overall fantasy ceiling, but the recent target volume makes him worth monitoring. If you’re desperate for a tight end in a deeper league, Dulcich is someone you can take a chance on.
Los Angeles Rams Tight Ends
The Rams’ tight end situation is worth watching heading into Week 8, especially after Davis Allen found the end zone twice in Week 7.
With Davante Adams out, Matthew Stafford turned to Allen for two touchdowns. Allen finished with four catches for 20 yards on five targets, but his limited involvement in the offense is something fantasy managers need to consider. He ran just 38% of the Rams’ routes, making it difficult to trust him as anything more than a deeper-league option.
Colby Parkinson was also involved in the passing game, while Tyler Higbee contributed as well. Makes it tough to predict which tight end will lead the group from week to week.
Still, Stafford has shown a willingness to look toward his tight ends in the red zone. If you’re struggling to find a replacement this week, Allen is worth a look after his two-touchdown performance. Just don’t expect that production to automatically carry over.
The Rams’ tight end group could provide some touchdown upside, but it’s a risky situation because of the shared workload. I’d treat Allen as a desperation play rather than someone I’d confidently plug into my lineup.
