2026 NFL Draft: Top 12 Prospects for Dynasty IDP Fantasy Football Leagues

Individual Defensive Player Leagues, or IDP, are Fantasy Football Leagues that include defensive players in starting lineups. These types of leagues range from those with a single IDP player to those with multiple, and some have half the starting lineup on defense. I happen to play in a home Dynasty league where we have nine starters on offense and nine players on defense, which is the only league I play in like this, but it is so much fun. The Dynasty Fantasy Football content that is out there right now for the 2026 NFL Draft is 99% focused on offensive players, so I am stepping in to help those of you who also play IDP.

This 2026 NFL Draft Class has a long list of stud defensive players who can make significant Dynasty Fantasy Football IDP Leagues. I feel as though defensive players are undervalued in these formats, but there are some studs in this class really worth rostering. Before the NFL Draft kicks off, here are my Top 12 IDP players. Keep in mind that leagues will be different in scoring, and to try to reference yours when evaluating. I do know that in mine, linebackers who have dual defensive line eligibility are a cheat code, linebackers are king, and safeties score higher than corners. Let’s get it!

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax this past season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune next season.

2026 NFL Draft: The Top 12 Prospects for Dynasty IDP Fantasy Football Leagues

12. Akheem Mesidor (DL, Miami)

  • 6’3, 259 lbs
  • Career: 65 games, 208 total tackles, 52.5 tackles for a loss, 35.5 sacks, four pass deflections, five forced fumbles

Akheem Mesidor has a solid combination of instincts with plenty of tools in his bag when it comes to his rushing style. The combination of strength, rushing quickness, and a high motor helps him break through blocking schemes.

11. Keldrick Faulk (DL, Auburn)

  • 6’5, 276 lbs
  • Career: 37 games, 109 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, six pass deflections, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble

Keldrick Faulk is a young prospect (still 20 years old) with great character traits who works around blocks primarily with finesse moves. Faulk has a long and athletic frame, fluid movements, and a solid combination of quickness and agility. High ceiling potential for the position.

10. Mansoor Delane (CB, LSU)

  • 5’11, 187 lbs
  • Career: 44 games, 191 total tackles, seven tackles for a loss, eight interceptions, 27 pass deflections, one fumble recovery

Mansoor Delane is the consensus CB1 of this draft class, who has the true potential to be an NFL lockdown corner. Delane has efficient footwork, quick processing, solid vertical speed, and thrives in press coverage. The position may limit his IDP upside, but the talent and potential are very evident.

9. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren (SAF, Toledo)

  • 6’3, 201 lbs
  • Career: 48 games, 214 total tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, one sack, five interceptions, one interception touchdown, 13 passes deflected, two fumble recoveries, nine forced fumbles

Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is a lengthy enforcer who has high anticipation when providing coverage. McNeil-Warren is quick to help stop the one when he can as well. The forced fumble numbers may be appealing as NFL teams look to bolster turnovers. McNeil-Warren checks a lot of boxes for what an NFL GM may be looking for in a safety.

8. Jacob Rodriguez (LB, Texas Tech)

  • 6’1, 231 lbs
  • Career: 56 games, 317 total tackles, 25.5 tackles for a loss, six sacks, six interceptions, 12 passes deflected, five fumble recoveries, and 13 forced fumbles

A former college quarterback turned linebacker, Jacob Rodriguez is a solid athlete with loads of production across the stat columns. Rodriguez tracks and attacks the football well and is aggressive, trying to make a play on every play. Rodriguez can instantly factor into a starting linebacker role and his college production could translate well for IDP Fantasy production.

7. Anthony Hill Jr. (LB, Texas)

  • 6’2, 238 lbs
  • Career: 40 games, 249 total tackles, 31.5 tackles for a loss, 17 sacks, three interceptions, four passes deflected, two fumble recoveries, and eight forced fumbles

Anthony Hill is an every-down linebacker who makes impacts both in front and behind the line of scrimmage. Hill has a solid combination of instincts, athleticism, and processing to make plays both as a blitzer and in coverage. Hill is versatile and athletic enough to instantly earn a large role in the defense he lands with. Solid qualities that could translate well for IDP Dynasty Leagues.

6. Dillon Thieneman (SAF, Oregon)

  • 6’0, 201 lbs
  • 39 games, 306 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, two sacks, eight interceptions, 14 passes deflected, two forced fumbles

Dillon Thieneman posted elite athletic numbers at this year’s NFL Combine (4.35 – 40 and 41-inch vertical), which could mean being a riser on many draft boards. Thieneman has multiple years of starting experience, big-time athleticism, versatility, instincts, and is great in pursuit. Thieneman could transition into a quality starting DB in IDP Fantasy Football lineups for years to come. This is a dynamic playmaker who is going to give his NFL team everything they need in coverage.

5. Rueben Bain Jr. (DL, Miami)

  • 6’2, 263 lbs
  • 38 games, 121 total tackles, 33.5 tackles for a loss, 20.5 sacks, one interception, two passes deflected, four forced fumbles

Rueben Bain Jr. is a mean, explosive, powerful, tough disruptor who creates havoc for offenses. Bain has violent hands and was a major impact in the College Football Playoffs for Miami, which led to a National Championship appearance. Dominating, big performances in huge games stand out in Bain’s profile. Bain should be an immediate starter with huge NFL potential.

4. David Bailey (DL, Texas Tech)

  • 6’3, 251 lbs
  • 46 games, 163 total tackles, 42 tackles for a loss, 29 sacks, four passes deflected, one fumble recovery, 10 forced fumbles

David Bailey makes a ton of plays behind the line of scrimmage as a guy who consistently is a handful for linemen. Instincts paired with short-area twitch and quick reactions help Bailey win. Bailey has elite explosiveness and athletic traits that should instantly make him a big impact on his NFL team. The IDP upside will be found in Bailey, translating tackles for a loss and sacks into Fantasy Football production.

3. Sonny Styles (LB, Ohio State)

  • 6’4, 244 lbs
  • 53 games, 244 total tackles, 22.5 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, one interception, nine passes deflected, one fumble recovery, three forced fumbles

Sony Styles had an elite NFL Combine, posting 43.5 inches on the vertical jump, 4.46 on the 40-yard dash, 11’2″ on the broad jump, and a 1.56-second 10-yard split. Styles is a former safety turned linebacker who has progressed in reading the game and obviously can be lined up in multiple positions. The heavy athleticism, progression in his game, and dynamic traits could be a huge translation to IDP Fantasy Football. Styles is a locked top-10 pick who should be a day-one plug-and-play NFL starter.

2. Caleb Downs (SAF, Ohio State)

  • 5’11, 206 lbs
  • 44 games, 257 total tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, six interceptions, 12 passes deflected, one fumble recovery, three forced fumbles

Caleb Downs had an instant breakout at Alabama as a freshman, before finishing his next two seasons at Ohio State. As a three-year starter, Downs has been consistently productive and brings high energy and effort into every snap. Downs reads plays well and routinely is disruptive to offenses in various ways. Downs is a great talent who can turn into a top-10 NFL Safety, which would mean huge values in the IDP Dynasty world.

1. Arvell Reese (DL/LB, Ohio State)

  • 6’4, 241 lbs
  • 36 games, 112 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, seven sacks, two pass deflections

Arvell Reese is still just 20 years old and can turn into an IDP Fantasy Football cheat-code with dual-threat DL/LB eligibility. Reese is versatile in his alignment and how he is implemented into a defense, and he has plenty of room to grow. Reese is fast in pursuing the ball carrier and can grow even more into a tackle machine. The combination of traits Reese already has and the high ceiling he can still progress into should make him an instant Dynasty Fantasy Football quality asset.
