Eight weeks into the season, my record now sits at 20-9-3. Week 8 was our best week yet, as we finished a perfect 5-0. Let’s keep this momentum rolling and look to stay hot with another week of DraftKings player props. Here are the plays I’m targeting for Week 9.

NFL Player Props for Week 9 on DraftKings
Jonah Coleman Over 55.5 Rushing Yards (-109)
Since being activated off IR, Coleman has wasted no time taking control of Denver’s backfield, and I don’t see Sean Payton making many changes after what we’ve seen over the last two games.
Coleman has started separating himself from J.K. Dobbins. Against Kansas City, Coleman played 41 offensive snaps compared to just 13 for Dobbins. He also outcarried him 11-to-7 and handled all six of Denver’s red-zone carries.
With RJ Harvey on IR, Coleman has also become a bigger part of Denver’s passing game. Last week against Kansas City, he caught four passes for 63 yards, including a massive 51-yard reception late in the fourth quarter that helped set up his own game-winning touchdown.
Now he gets a matchup against a Carolina defense that has struggled to stop opposing running backs all season. They are 3rd worst against the run and a top 10 run funnel for opposing running backs.
Darren Waller Over 18.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
Denver has struggled against tight ends. The Broncos rank among the six worst defenses in the NFL against the position, allowing an average of 68.1 receiving yards per game to opposing tight ends. Waller also brings some big-play upside to this matchup. He’s averaging 13.9 yards per reception with a 9.7-yard average depth of target (aDOT).
With Carolina entering this matchup as a three-point underdog, there could also be opportunities for Waller to get involved if the Panthers find themselves playing from behind.
Rashee Rice Over 53.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
I’m going right back to Rashee Rice after the last time we targeted him ended with him leaving the game due to injury. The matchup against the Jets is one I really like, particularly with how their defense has defended underneath passing concepts.
Rice’s 5.6-yard average depth of target (aDOT) fits the type of passing attack that can give this defense problems. The Jets have been more focused on protecting against deep vertical threats, which can create opportunities for quarterbacks to take what the defense gives them underneath. I’m willing to go back to the well here and target him again in a matchup that I believe suits his strengths.
Jonathan Taylor Over 63.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
I’m really trying to figure out why we’re getting this number on Jonathan Taylor against one of the worst rushing defenses in football. I understand the concerns surrounding Indianapolis right now, but this matchup is simply too good for me to ignore. Taylor has been pretty consistent on the ground this season, averaging 76.3 rushing yards per game and clearing this number in six of his eight games.
Now, I already know what everyone is going to point to. Taylor finished with just 23 rushing yards against Jacksonville last week, and the Colts were embarrassed in a 42-7 loss. Now, I’m not ignoring the concerns. Indianapolis traded Quenton Nelson, arguably its best offensive lineman, and that’s a significant loss up front. The trade rumors surrounding Taylor are also worth monitoring.
However, Dallas ranks dead last in rushing yards allowed and is allowing running backs, as a whole, an average of 152.8 rushing yards per game. We just watched Tyler Allgeier run for 147 yards on 11 carries against this same defense last week. Bucky Irving also went for 165 rushing yards earlier this season.
The biggest concern is game script. If Dallas jumps out to a massive lead as Jacksonville did, Taylor’s rushing opportunities could disappear again. But against this Cowboys defense, I think Indianapolis has a legitimate opportunity to establish the run and keep this game competitive.
Greg Dulcich Over 3.5 Receptions (-140)
Dulcich has been heavily involved since Miami’s bye week, and I’m interested in continuing to target him in this matchup against Detroit. Since the bye, he’s posted a 20% targets-per-route-run rate while averaging 1.92 yards per route run.
Detroit has relied heavily on man coverage, along with Cover 1 and Cover 3 looks. Those defensive schemes have created opportunities for slot receivers, and Detroit has been particularly vulnerable in that area. Dulcich operates out of the slot frequently, which gives him an opportunity to take advantage of the coverage. He’s also been productive recently, clearing this reception number in consecutive games.
