Welcome to the Week 17 quarterback rankings. Championship Week is upon us! If you’ve made it this far, continue to stick with your studs and the guys that brung ya’, especially at the quarterback position.
However, be prepared to have some backup options in mind, as injuries are piling up and COVID is not going away anytime soon. Carson Wentz is the latest quarterback to land on the COVID-19 list, and he likely won’t be the last. Good luck, everybody!
What!? Your league isn’t hosted on Fantrax!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune next season.
Week 17 Quarterback Notes
- Matthew Stafford is coming off his worst game of the season, throwing for 197 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. But look for him to bounce back this week in a favorable matchup against the Ravens. On the season, the Ravens allow the most passing yards to quarterbacks and rank second-worst against the position. Further, they’re coming off a game that allowed Joe Burrow to pass for 525 yards and score four touchdowns. Fire Stafford up this week with confidence!
- Monitor the quarterback situation in San Francisco. Jimmy Garoppolo tore his UCL and fractured his right thumb in Week 16, and Trey Lance will get the starting nod if Garoppolo can’t suit up. Lance took first-team reps on Monday, and if he starts, has a nice matchup against the Texans. Lance is a dual-threat quarterback who can be inserted into fantasy lineups as a low-end QB1 this week.
- The Ravens’ quarterback situation is also worth keeping an eye on. Josh Johnson filled in nicely in Week 16 after Tyler Huntley landed on COVID-IR and Lamar Jackson was out with an ankle injury. Whichever quarterback gets the nod will be a low-tier QB1 this week against the Rams.
