For most fantasy football leagues, the season is over. That being said, there are some leagues that extend to Week 18! Thus, it would behoove us to take a look at what is likely to be a chaotic week of fantasy football, right?
With some teams either having their playoff spot locked up or teams having nothing to play for, we don’t know what to expect this week. We don’t which teams will rest their quarterbacks, and even their top pass catchers, for that matter. Consequently, we could see some unpredictability at the tight end position; top players could be rested, and young players on non-contending teams could play bigger roles than before.
With that, let us get to my Week 18 tight end rankings! Who can help you seal a fantasy championship, and who should remain on your bench? Let us dive deep into it!
Week 18 Tight End Notes
- Zach Ertz (vs Seahawks), Dalton Schultz (vs Eagles), and Dawson Knox (vs Jets) all have great matchups this week. Even after Knox’s zero-point showing this week, they all have target security and touchdown upside, and should be considered clear TE1s, as they are in my Week 18 tight end rankings.
- With Dallas Goedert on the COVID-19 list and the Eagles having their playoff spot locked up, you have to wonder if he doesn’t play. At the very least, we could see Goedert being limited.
- Foster Moreau, assuming Darren Waller doesn’t play, is a great streaming option in a pivotal matchup against the Chargers, who are allowing the second-most points to tight ends.
- Will Cole Kmet finally score a touchdown? The 22-year-old has seen an end-zone target in three straight games and tends to see his targets rise with Andy Dalton under center, so perhaps he can finally get on the board against the Vikings in Week 18.
