Man oh man, if you drafted one of these top receivers in the first round, it paid off! Well, welcome back to another wide receiver rankings list and this one will cover Week 2.
I hope you paid attention to last week because not many rankings lists had Michael Pittman Jr. in the top five like I did, and that is exactly where he finished. So, now that I have your trust, let’s get into it.
Just as a reminder, these rankings lists are based on half-PPR scoring.
Week 1 Wide Receiver Notes:
Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers
You might think I’m crazy to have Mike Williams as my WR10 this week, after his performance in Week 1. But, if you take a look at last season, Williams wasn’t the most consistent receiver.
However, it looks as if Keenan Allen will miss a few weeks. This bumps him up into the top 10, going against the Kansas City Chiefs. Last season, in their first meeting, Williams dropped 29.7 fantasy points against the Chiefs. He had 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
I know Williams only had four targets last week, but trust me that is going to change this week. Justin Herbert is going to look his way if they want to win this game.
Gabriel Davis, Buffalo Bills
Next, I have Gabriel Davis as my WR15 for Week 2. Davis had a big night against the Rams in Week 1, and it just goes to show that the Bills’ offense can support two top fantasy receivers.
This week, the Bills are going against the Titans, who are middle of the road when it comes to defending the passing game. But, they did play the Giants in Week 1. So, I trust Josh Allen a little bit more than Daniel Jones.
Davis is a for sure flex start this week or a low-end WR2 on your roster.
Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints
Last, we have the slant master, Michael Thomas. I have Thomas as my WR21 this week. He would jump into the high teens if he wasn’t going against Tampa Bay. However, for not playing for a couple of years, Thomas looks like he hasn’t missed a beat.
The first half was awful for him, but in the second half, the Saints got it going. And Thomas ended up with two receiving touchdowns.
I know he has a tough matchup this week, but it looks like Thomas is the target for the red zone. I don’t expect you to start Thomas as a WR1 on your roster, but he is an easy flex start for his touchdown upside.
