Week 8 is here, and it is time for another week of wide receiver rankings. Week 8 is light when it comes to bye weeks. Mike Williams is already going to miss some time with an injury, so the chances of him starting this week would be questionable. And the Chiefs only have Juju Smith-Schuster who would be worth a start.
Chances are you, don’t have any receivers on a bye this week. But, you still need to know who to start. Going into Week 8, you need to take every week seriously. Two losses in a row could knock you out of playoff contention. Be sure to check out my Week 8 RB rankings list below as your cheat sheet for a perfect lineup.
Wide Receiver Notes:
- It only took me one week of play to have DeAndre Hopkins in my top 10 for the week. I have him as my WR8 against the Vikings this week. Hopkins quickly took over Marquise Brown’s target share. Hopkins had 14 targets and he came down with 10 of them for 103 yards. He did not score, but even without scoring, he put up 15.3 points. The Cardinals desperately need a playmaker and Hopkins will be their superstar going forward.
- Chris Olave jumps up to my WR15 for Week 8. There is a chance that Michael Thomas comes back this week, but even if he does, and if Jarvis Landry comes back, Olave is the WR1 on this team. Since Week 3, Olave has finished in the top 20 and finished 13th last week. This week he has a great matchup against the Raiders. The Raiders are giving up just under 30 fantasy points per game to receivers.
- DJ Moore is a quiet WR30 for me this week. Moore is the only receiver left on the team that is worth starting, and as soon as Robbie Anderson leaves, Moore finished in the top 10 for the first time this year. Event the top 25 for the first time this year. This week he has a great matchup against the Falcons who are giving up the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. The only reason I have him as a quiet WR30 this week is because of the quarterback play. He does not have an elite arm throwing his way, so it is a tough call.
- Lastly, I want to talk about Courtland Sutton. I have him as my WR25 this week. If I were you, I would bench Sutton this week. He has the Jaguars, who are middle of the road when it comes to defending wide receivers. In three weeks, Sutton has yet to score in the double digits. I would much rather start Christian Kirk or DeVonta Smith over Sutton this week.
