Justin Fields finished as the top quarterback last week. He completed 17 of his 28 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns. He also set a single-game record for quarterbacks with 178 rushing yards, to go along with a rushing touchdown. Fields has been on a tear lately, scoring the most fantasy points at the position over the last three games played. He should have another great week against Detroit this week and is a top-five option in my Week 10 quarterback rankings.
Remember that bye weeks continue in Week 10 with Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, and Zach Wilson all out. On the injury front, keep an eye on Josh Allen. He’s listed as day-to-day with a UCL injury, and it’s unclear whether he’ll play on Sunday. If he misses time, Case Keenum will get the start for Buffalo. Matthew Stafford entered the concussion protocol on Tuesday, putting his Sunday availability in question. If he’s unable to suit up, John Wolford will get the startAs always, monitor the injury reports throughout the week and adjust your lineups accordingly. Good luck in Week 10!
Quarterback Notes
Bye Weeks: BAL, CIN, NE, NYJ
- Tua Tagovailoa has been unstoppable recently. In the past two weeks, he’s combined for 684 passing yards, six touchdowns, and no interceptions. This week, he faces off against a Cleveland defense that ranks 12th against quarterbacks. However, it’s worth noting that they only have three interceptions on the season. With the best receiving duo in the league in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Tagovailoa should continue to find success through the air in Week 10. He’s my QB5 this week.
- Justin Herbert was unable to take advantage of a juicy Week 9 matchup against Atlanta. He completed 30-of-43 pass attempts for 245 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Injuries to the Chargers’ receivers have taken a toll on the offense, with Herbert combining for only three touchdowns over the last three games. He also has three interceptions over that span. Herbert gets a tough matchup this week against San Francisco. The Niners have given up eight touchdowns this season, tied for the third-fewest in the league. Herbert is a back-end QB1 for me in Week 10.
- It’s been an ugly season for Russell Wilson. He has only one multiple-touchdown game, and he currently ranks as the QB20 through seven games. Yuck. However, things could turn around this week. He’s coming off a bye week and gets a favorable matchup against a Tennessee defense that is allowing 19.8 fantasy points to quarterbacks (seventh-most). Additionally, the Titans have been unable to stop much through the air. They’ve allowed the third-most passing yards to the position, and the 15 passing touchdowns they’ve surrendered are tied for the third-most. Call me crazy, but I’m in on Russell Wilson this week.
- Andy Dalton is coming off a disappointing Week 9. He completed 19 of his 29 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. However, he gets a nice rebound opportunity this week against a leaky Pittsburgh defense. The Steelers are allowing 20.09 fantasy points to quarterbacks this season (fifth-most). They’ve also given up 16 touchdowns through the air, tied for second-most. In similarly favorable matchups against Arizona and Las Vegas, Dalton threw for multiple touchdowns in each game. He should be able to do the same in Week 10. He’s a nice streaming option this week.
