Fantasy Basketball Weekend Streamers
NBA Fantasy Streamers is a weekly article put out by Fantrax to help Fantasy NBA managers chase down statistics in weekly league formats. All the players listed below play 2 games in three nights between Friday and Sunday, giving you the best opportunity to maximize their statistical output.
Teams With Two Games
BOS, BKN, CHA, CHI, CLE, DAL, DEN, DET, GSW, LAL, MIN, NYK, ORL, TOR, WAS
Jonathan Kuminga, F – Golden State Warriors | 55% rostered
Best stats: REB, TBD
The curious case of Jonathan Kuminga. Every time it seems he takes a step forward, he falls back, loses minutes, or otherwise doesn’t produce to a level his talent would suggest.
The outlook for this weekend is less based on his potential and more due to the fact Stephen Curry is set to miss weeks with a shoulder injury and Draymond Green is listed as day-to-day. If Draymond misses out, then Kuminga’s path to minutes is clear. While he’s obviously not a direct replacement for curry, it will likely be done by committee, which includes Kuminga.
Royce O’Neale, F – Brooklyn Nets | 73% rostered
Best stats: AST, REB
Honestly, there is no telling what Royce is going to do statistically. What managers should know by now is that he’s going to play 30-plus minutes. O’Neale’s presence seems to be an integral part of the Nets moving forward in the post-Steve Nash era.
His stats don’t jump off the page, but compared to a player with only one match-up in three days his 5 rebounds and 5 assists a night could come in handy across two games.
Jalen McDaniels, F – Charlotte Hornets | 65% rostered
Best stats: PTS, STL
Mcdaniels has been a boom or bust candidate of late. Luckily for fantasy managers, streamers can have one bad game and still be an effective pick-up.
The Charlotte wingman has scored 15 or more in 5 of his last 8 games, including 3 20+ outbursts. McDaniels is also averaging over a steal a game in that 8 game stretch. He’s undoubtedly had complete blunders in that same 8 game run, but he’s worth the risk for a weekend.
Monte Morris, G – Washington Wizards | 77% rostered
Best Stats: AST, 3PM, PTS
The fact Morris is under 80% rostered is somewhat surprising given his assist output, nonetheless, he could probably always be a responsible streaming choice.
Beyond his 5 assists a game, Morris is averaging 14 ppg over his last 4 outings, while hitting more than 2 threes per contest. The most positive sign may be that he’s played more than 30 minutes plus in 3 of those 4 as well.
Moritz Wagner, F/C – Orlando Magic | 43% rostered
Best Stats: REB, TBD
He’s in the starting center spot with Wendell Carter out, and the Magic are playing good basketball.
Deni Avdija, G/F – Washington Wizards | 60% rostered
Best Stats: REB, STL
The third-year wing seems to have finally found a solid spot in the Wizards rotation, and the best indicator of stat production is nearly always usage.
Quentin Grimes, G/F – New York Knicks | 45% rostered
Best Stats: 3PM, TBD
The man is averaging 35 minutes a night over his last 7 games. When Tom Thibodeau finds someone he likes, he plays them and plays them a lot. It seems Grimes has played himself onto Thib’s nice list headed into the holiday season.
