Week 2 NFL Player Props for Draft Kings

To a degree, this is going to be an ever-evolving endeavor throughout the week. As you prepare for the upcoming slate of games, there will always be specific plays you like and wish to target. NFL player props will stand out to you, and at the moment, you should capitalize on them. As news changes throughout the week, these markets will move as well, so lock in your player prop picks as you see them.

Each week, I will take a look at four NFL player prop targets on DraftKings and provide some commentary about them. Please be aware though, that these are subject to market movements.

NFL Player Props

Daniel Jones over 34.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Part of this was by default, but Daniel Jones finished with 40 rushing yards to begin the season. Last year, Jones hit that mark about half of the time, but this week’s matchup in Arizona does set up well for him on the ground. This is a defense that can be exploited by Jones, and the Giants are in very early must-win territory.

While the Giants still have offensive line troubles, Jones should be forced out of the pocket on occasion. That should lead to some rushing production from Jones, and we know that this is something he is capable of.

Brandon Aiyuk over 57.5 Receiving Yards (-125)

This is not the most favorable of payouts, but it is also hard to ignore. I try not be be duplicative, but oftentimes there is overlap between DFS and player props. With Brandon Aiyuk, that is the case after he picked up 129 yards to begin the season. Ever prior to his emergence to begin the 2022 season, Aiyuk was trending in that direction. To close out the season, Aiyuk went over his mark in his last three regular-season games as well as San Francisco’s first playoff game. Aiyuk is a talented and athletic receiver who has clearly formed a chemistry with Brock Purdy.

David Montgomery over 56 Rushing Yards (-115)

We shouldn’t overlook what David Montgomery can do even with the prescense of Jahmyr Gibbs. It is clear that the Lions are going to lean on the veteran, at least early in the season. That was the case to begin the season as Montgomery picked up 74 yards to begin the season against Kansas City. The matchup figures to be a little easier this week against Seattle, so game flow should also lead to volume, and therefore success, for Montgomery.

Zach Wilson over 0.5 Touchdown Passes (-160)

I know the Cowboys kept the Giants off the scoreboard last week, but there were other variables at play here as well. Things were also troubling for the Jets, but at least Zach Wilson was able to lead them to victory. Wilson did throw for a touchdown, on an unbelievable catch by Garrett Wilson, and we have to give him a little bit of credit.

Last year didn’t exactly go great for Wilson, but things should be better this year. Wilson did have a year to grow and he appears to be have made progress this off-season. For this player prop, the bar really could not be much lower. While I do think the Jets will keep things close, even a blowout will put Wilson in position to throw for a touchdown. New York has had a week to design an offense around Wilson and the strength of the running game should take the focus off him.
