MNF DraftKings NFL DFS Picks
Captain
Josh Jacobs
DraftKings Captain Salary- $15,900
Last season’s NFL leading rusher Josh Jacobs hasn’t gotten off to as hot of a start as he did last season. In 2022 he began the year with a 100+ yard performance in each of his first three games. When I say 100+ I really should say 143+ because he actually ran for 144, 154, and 143 in those weeks. While this year’s 48, -2, and 62 yards are a far cry from last year’s first 3 games, there’s reason to be optimistic going forward.
In addition to the rushing volume (62 carries), Jacobs has been fairly active through the air. The running back has been targeted 25 times through the first four weeks. It appears that Jacobs is getting back on the right track. Last week against the Chargers he ran for 58 yards and a touchdown on 17 attempts. He really made a splash by catching 8 of 11 targets for 81 yards. The Packers DST has already allowed 5 rushing touchdowns this season. It’s looking for Jacobs to find the end zone tonight on MNF.
Captain to consider: Davante Adams- $16,800 (REVENGE GAME ALERT)
Core Play
Jordan Love
DraftKings Salary- $9,800
#Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) will be inactive tonight against the #Raiders, per source.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) October 9, 2023
With Aaron Jones officially being ruled out of MNF at 3:30 PM this afternoon, I am changing my core play to Jordan Love. Backup running back AJ Dillon clearly now becomes a decent value play. Jordan has been a fantasy darling for those who waited to draft him, or simply picked him up off of waivers. While he hasn’t set the world on fire, he’s been consistent. Love has scored at least 19.6 DraftKings points in all four matchups this season. He’s a strong anchor for your lineups at a cheaper cost than Aaron Jones was anyway. FanDuel Sportsbook has set Love’s passing yard total line at 235.5 for tonight’s game. Four quarterbacks have gone against the Raiders DST this season: Justin Fields, Desmond Ridder, Derek Carr, and Jared Goff. Of those four, three have covered that line. In fact, Jordan Love has covered that line himself three of four times this season. Love feels like a safe strong play tonight.
Value
Jakobi Meyers
DraftKings Salary- $7,000
If you follow my DraftKings showdown series then you know how much I love targets. If you follow this series closely, then you know I especially love concentrated targets. And oh boy, let me tell you, if Jimmy Garoppolo got caught with drugs, it wouldn’t be “with intent to distribute”. Davante Adams currently leads the team with 50 targets, which is about as close as you can get to being in a monogamous relationship. The next closest however is our guy Jakobi Meyers. Jakobi’s 26 targets is barely over half the targets that Adams has gotten, however, it’s still 19 more than the next wide receiver (Hunter Renfrow).
Meyers would have more targets except he missed Week 2 due to a concussion. It’s pretty clear to see that the rapport that Meyers and Garoppolo established in New England has transferred to Las Vegas. Meyers caught 9 of 10 targets for 2 touchdowns in Week 1. In his return from the league’s concussion protocol, Meyers reeled in 7 of 12 targets. He went over 80 yards in both games displaying some YAC ability, proving that he isn’t simply a possession guy. Jakobi will look to bounce back tonight on MNF after a poor showing last week without Garoppolo.
Value to consider: Daniel Carlson- $4,200
Sleeper
Luke Musgrave
DraftKings Salary- $5,200
Coming off of an injury last week, Luke Musgrave might slip under the radar in MNF tonight. Musgrave was forced out of last week’s contest early due to a concussion. The rookie was a full participant in every practice this week, signaling his return to play tonight. Before his injury, Musgrave had been showing flashes although the stat sheets don’t show it.
There’s an alternate universe where Jordan Love doesn’t consistently overthrow Luke Musgrave and he’s fantasy’s overall TE1.
— Dave Kluge (@DaveKluge) September 24, 2023
In Week 3 against New Orleans, Musgrave totaled six catches on eight targets for 49 yards. He could of had a bigger day, but QB Jordan Love overthrew him (AGAIN) on a seam route that would have gone for a long gain and possibly his the first touchdown of his NFL career. The eight targets shows Love’s growing comfortability with his new tight end. He’ll have a chance to grow that relationship further tonight.
Sleeper to consider: Austin Hooper- $600
Bust
Jimmy Garoppolo
DraftKings Salary- $9,400
Jimmy G had a heck of a game last week. At least he did from a fantasy perspective. His season-high 23.7 DraftKings points would have provided tremendous value for anyone who decided to roster him. However, a closer look reveals that Jimmy G actually played pretty poorly. He only completed 63% of passes and tossed three interceptions. The fact that he did this against a suspect Steelers secondary doesn’t inspire me going into MNF.

Jimmy will be coming back from a concussion that caused him to miss last week’s game against the Chargers. Rookie Aidan O’Connell got the start in his place and proceeded to stink up the joint. As hard as it was to watch, O’Connell’s 238 passing yards is still higher than Jimmy’s yardage totals in Week 1 and Week 2 (200 & 185). The Packers DST has an interception in three of their four games this year. Jimmy Garoppolo has thrown at least one interception in all three of his appearances this season. You can find better ways to spend your salary tonight.
