Once again, we are in the midst of an exciting NFL season. Now begins the process of setting the best lineup possible on a weekly basis. Each week, we have you covered as we go through options at both the quarterback and tight end positions. Let us dig into some Week 6 Quarterback Sleepers and Streamers along with some Week 6 Tight End Sleepers and Streamers.
Week 6 Quarterback Sleepers and Streamers
Quarterback Sleepers
Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons
The last thing we want to be here is boring, so let’s get a little bold and crazy. Before you think I’ve completely lost my mind, there is some logic in including Desmond Ridder as one of my sleepers and streamers.
Last week was easily the best game of the season for Ridder as he threw for 329 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, Ridder added a touchdown on the ground for the second time this season. That added touch on the ground helps to augment any fantasy value.
Beyond the success, what truly gets our attention is the matchup. Ridder is facing a Washington team that allows the most points to fantasy quarterbacks this season. If you needed any proof of that, look no further than the 282 yards and four touchdowns Justin Fields had last week. While Ridder is not the runner Fields is, it should still be noted that he later gained 57 yards on 11 carries.
Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Once the bye weeks start, searching for players coming off their bye weeks is a good source of sleepers and streamers. This week, Baker Mayfield falls into that category.
When we last saw Mayfield he was quite efficient against the Saints. The veteran completed 25 of 32 points for 246 yards and three touchdowns in what was his best game of the season. This week, it is a solid matchup for Mayfield at home against Detroit. While Mayfield does not bring the upside of some other options, we are shopping in this aisle for a reason. There is always the chance that Mayfield has another three-touchdown game, but at the least, there is a solid floor.
Quarterback Streamers
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Right back to Matthew Stafford we go for the second straight week. Last week against the Eagles, Stafford only threw for 222 yards, but it was a solid week with two touchdown passes. This week, things get even better for the Rams’ quarterback and that puts him back as one of our sleepers and streamers.
The Arizona Cardinals are top five in points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, and Stafford is in a great spot to take advantage of that. The return of Cooper Kupp is certainly notable as it adds a large weapon to the Rams’ passing attack. Between Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Kyren Williams, Los Angeles is flush with weapons. Stafford is a dependable veteran quarterback who is in a great spot to take advantage of a favorable matchup. When dealing with bye weeks and injuries, Stafford is the perfect answer at the quarterback position. This week it is even more favorable due to the matchup.
Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints
Game script was an issue last week as the Saints jumped out to an early lead and never let up. That meant Derek Carr didn’t have to do much as he finished with 183 yards and two touchdowns.
With Alvin Kamara back on the field, New Orleans is not lacking for offensive weapons, and he should have another strong game against the Houston Texans this week. Previously, there was a concern surrounding the status of Carr’s shoulder, but appears to be alleviated. In the limited workload required, Carr had three completed passes that went for at least 20 yards, so we can move forward without issue.

Week 6 Tight End Sleepers and Streamers
Tight End Sleepers
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
While the Jets’ offense is still a work in progress, to put it mildly, they did win last week. In doing so, Tyler Conklin did play a solid role once again for New York. Conklin was targeted five times and finished with four catches for 67 yards.
If we remove Week 1 from the equation, Conklin has been targeted either four or five times each week. There is nothing to suggest a change in volume would be in store. While Conklin’s next touchdown catch would be his first, he did have a close call two weeks ago. he is still a solid option. However, I would feel better about things if Zach Wilson did a better job of getting his team in the end zone.
Hayden Hurst, Carolina Panthers
On paper, do the Panthers even have a chance this week? To say that the Miami Dolphins offense is a juggernaut might be an understatement, and we know that Carolina will have issues keeping up.
That means the Panthers will be playing from behind, and Bryce Young will be forced to the air. While that has been a common theme this season, Hurst has been targeted three times in each of the last four weeks. Given the connection usually formed between a rookie quarterback and his tight end, the hope is that Hurst has another busy week on Sunday. Young and the Panthers will be forced to try and win it through the air. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Hurst pick up a garbage-time touchdown here.
For obvious reasons, it is a good matchup for Hurst statistically against Miami as well.
Tight End Streamers
Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders
Game flow played a factor here, but it was hard to ignore what we saw on Thursday. Logan Thomas was healthy really for the first time all season, so we can’t ignore that either. But it certainly was alluring to see the way Sam Howell looked at his tight last week.
Thomas was targeted 11 times, and the tight end turned that into nine receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. It was his second touchdown of the season and the second time in four games that he was targeted at least eight times. The thought process here is that Thomas’ workload will continue this week against Atlanta. And that is even more attractive since the Falcons are top-five in points allowed to opposing tight ends this season.
Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans
It is not a secret that things are barren at the tight end position. That continues when we get to the sleepers and streamers discussion. In a lot of leagues, Chigoziem Okonkwo was drafted as a borderline TE1, but he has been a victim of the Tennessee offense to this point.
Last week though, his volume did increase as Okonkwo was targeted a season-high nine times. That also translated to a season-high five receptions but the issue is that it only went for 33 yards. The good news is that Okonkwo is a large piece of the Titans’ offense. The bad news is that their offense is not very good.
