MNF DFS DraftKings Showdown Picks
*Disclaimer: These picks have been constructed with the mindset of building a single lineup. When building large field/multi-entry tournaments, if the player sees the field you’ll want to have a piece of him somewhere, my “busts” included.*
Captain
Javonte Williams
DraftKings Captain Salary- $10,800
Javonte Williams is the 7th most expensive player on tonight’s MNF single-game slate. I kind of get it, there are some dynamic playmakers priced above him. However, his role is just too large to ignore. His DraftKings price of $10,800 in the captain slot allows you to not only jam in your studs, but it does so without forfeiting an all-important roster spot.

The Buffalo Bills DST ranks as the 8th best matchup for fantasy running backs this season. Williams is coming off of his best game of the season. In last week’s pummeling of the Kansas City Chiefs, Williams recorded a season-high 27 carries for 85 yards. He once again stayed involved in the passing game catching all three of his targets for 13 yards and a touchdown. There is no doubt in my mind that the Broncos coaching staff believes that they’ve found the winning recipe. If the Broncos want a shot of winning this matchup, they’ll need to keep the clock moving AND the ball out of Josh Allen’s hands. Running the ball with Williams is the best chance they’ll have of that.
Core Play
Stefon Diggs
DraftKings Salary- $12,000
What if I told you that Stefon Diggs does NOT currently lead his team in targets? I’d be the world’s worst liar. Anybody with eyes (or ears for that matter) can see (or hear) that Diggs is highly involved every time the Buffalo Bills take the field. As expected, Diggs currently has the largest slice of the target pie. His 97 targets is 48 more than the next pass catcher. It really doesn’t matter who you are, if you’re going to be targeted as heavily as Diggs, I want you in my SNF DraftKings lineup. After going four straight weeks with 100+ receiving yards, Diggs has not eclipsed the century mark since. Stefon shines on primetime, look for him to snap that streak tonight.
Value
Courtland Sutton
DraftKings Salary- $7,000
Courtland Sutton has very quietly scored a touchdown in all but two games this season. And wouldn’t you know it, Courtland Sutton leads all NFL wide receivers in red zone usage. All six of his touchdowns this season have come within the 20-yard line, the most in the league. His 8 red zone receptions are T-5th while his second-ranked 84 red zone yards stand alone.

Obviously, the projected game script favors the Buffalo Bills offense. Courtland Sutton could and should receive an uptick in usage if the game were to start to get out of hand. Last week was Sutton’s second least efficient performance from a yardage perspective. A MNF bounce-back is not out of the question tonight against a Bills defense that just surrendered 110 yards to Bengals WR, Tee Higgins.
Sleeper
Samaje Perine
DraftKings Salary- $1,400
Samaje Perine has quietly worked his way back into the Denver Broncos running back conversation. Recently he had been ceding snaps to rookie runner Jaleel McLaughlin, who shined in relief of Javonte Williams earlier in the year. However, in the last two weeks, Perine has outsnapped McLaughlin. Perine has snap percentages of 25% and 24% compared to McLaughlin’s 17% and 11%. Perine is currently the cheaper of the two running backs for tonight’s MNF contest on DraftKings. Just as he has familiarity with the Kansas City Chiefs playing for the Bengals last season, Perine is also very familiar with the Buffalo Bills. At $1,400 Perine is the lowest salaried player that I’m confident in taking a stab at tonight.
MNF Bust
James Cook
DraftKings Salary- $10,000
Another week, another high-profile bust candidate. Maybe it changes tonight, but James Cook has not been receiving the work I expect from a $10,000 running back. Just last week, Cook only received 6 carries against the Bengals. It hasn’t been the year many expected as Cook has hit double-digit DK points just once in the last 5 weeks. While Cook’s MNF matchup against the Broncos DST looks salivating on paper, it really isn’t as juicy as it looks. This is not the same Broncos defense that was blown out by the Miami Dolphins. They come to life recently forcing 3 interceptions and 3 fumbles in the last two games. Cook’s performance has left much to be desired, which is probably why Leonard Fournette has landed on the Bills’ practice squad. This could be Cook’s last chance to close the door before the Bills let another RB run through it.
