Here is a brief definition of each of my terms for anyone that might be new:

Quarterback
Brock Purdy – The Forty Niners have their full complement of skill position players active and healthy. That spells trouble for opponents as Brock is good when everyone is in the lineup. In the last 2 games, Purdy has thrown for either over 350 yards or 3 touchdowns. Topping 20 fantasy points in both games. In Week 11 the Niners will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Bucs give up the sixth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. The stars align for Purdy in Week 11. That team sure does have a Purdy mouth, I mean quarterback.

CJ Stroud – You know Stroud has been on fire lately, I certainly don’t have to tell you that. The Texans seem to have found their guy and set him loose. In the past 2 games, he has a combined total of 826 yards and 6 touchdowns. In Week 11 the Texan will play the Cardinals. The Cardinals are a bottom-10 defense against the pass. You can expect Stroud to throw and throw some more in Week 11.

Tommy DeVito – The Giants are playing the Commanders in Week 11. The Commanders give up the most fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. This is either a desperation play or you really want to pay down at quarterback. I thought it would be fun to talk about Danny, I mean Tommy. In Week 10, Tommy did have 2 touchdowns. Essentially with this one, I am saying the matchup is good so there is a chance, as quarterbacks average 275 yards and 2 touchdowns per game against the Commanders’ defense.

Austin Ekeler – Last week the Steelers had not one, but two running backs score double-digit fantasy points against the Packers’ defense. Ekeler is one of the best running backs in the game. So we have a great running back going up against a defense that doesn’t defend running backs well. Smash play for Ekeler this week. I would pay up in DFS for him in Week 11

Devin Singletary – The Cardinals defense isn’t very good. They give up the third most fantasy points to running backs. In Week 10, Singletary ran the ball 30 times for the Texans. Dameon Pierce was out so Singletary got all the touches in that plus match-up. Pierce is nursing an ankle injury and has not been producing great when healthy. It looks like Singletary will get the majority of the touches in another plus match-up in Week 11.

Darrell Henderson – This is the last hurrah for Henderson as Kyren Williams is expected back in Week 12. With that in mind let’s give Henderson a sendoff by playing him in Week 11. If you think that this is just because I am a kind person, you are wrong. It’s because the Rams play the Seahawks in Week 11. In the past two games, four different running backs have scored double-digit fantasy points against the Seahawks, that is two for each team that has played them. This is a nice spot to play Henderson and probably to plug Royce Freeman in as well.

Wide Receivers
Mike Evans – The Niners give up the ninth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. The wide receivers’ position has averaged 15 receptions, 170 yards, and a touchdown against the Niners. Evans is in the middle of a great season with 70 targets, 43 receptions, 737 yards, and 6 touchdowns. The 6 touchdowns match his 2022 season total. Evans is a high-floor, high-ceiling play this week.

Jayden Reed – I also like Romeo Doubs here. I picked Reed because he just seems to catch everything thrown at him, and his cost is less. Reed has a 15% share of the Packers targets. He also has a 62% catch rate which is the highest of the Packers wide receivers. In Week 10 he saw 5 targets which he turned into 5 receptions which he turned into 5 receptions 84 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Love is not the most accurate of passers, which is why I picked the guy with the highest catch rate. The Packers play the Chargers in Week 11. The Chargers give up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. It doesn’t hurt that his last name is so close to being the same as mine as well.

Christian Kirk – Kirk is a guy with a super consistent floor and high ceiling. He has only 2 games this season where he scored under 10 fantasy points. In Week 11 Kirk had a 35% target share. That was 11 targets which he turned into 6 receptions and 104 yards. This week the Jaguars are playing the Titans. If you didn’t know the Titans are bad at defending wide receivers. The Titans give up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. Kirk is about to put some serious numbers in the captain’s log for Week 11.

Cole Kmet – The Bears play the Lions in Week 11. The Lions give up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends. Kmet has been heavily involved in the Bears passing game the past three games. He has 25 targets, 21 receptions, 179 yards, and 2 touchdowns over that span. He has been Tyson Bagnet’s favorite target during that span. Whenever I say Cole Kmet’s name out loud I think of Gary Gnu for some reason. (Look him up)

Luke Musgrave – Musgrave is a pretty dynamic tight end. He can make a catch and make something happen. Musgrave has had only 4 targets a game the past 2 games. He has taken those 8 targets and turned them into 5 receptions, 115 yards, and a touchdown. That is over 50 yards each game and a touchdown in Week 9. In Week 11 the Packers will play the Chargers. The Chargers give up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends. The matchup is right, and the Packers will be throwing the ball. Essentially, you could do worse.

Trey McBride – I am playing McBride everywhere I can in Week 11. The Texans, who give up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends, are up next. McBride has been seeing a crazy target share for a tight end. In Week 10 he had a 28% target share. That was 9 targets, 8 receptions, and 131 yards. This game has a 47.5 over under and I feel like I am not talking about it enough yet. This is the world of Commander McBride!

Defense
Commanders – The Commanders are playing the Giants in Week 11. The Giants give up the most fantasy points to opposing teams’ defenses. Team defenses average 14.10 points per week against the Giants’ defense. In Week 7 The Commanders had 4 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries against the Giants. Danny DeVito, I mean Tommy DeVito is starting at quarterback for the Giants. This smells like a spot where paying up can be ok.

Steelers – The Cleveland Browns have put out a statement that Deshaun Watson will have season-ending surgery. PJ Walker is expected to step in and play quarterback for the Browns. The Browns already gave up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ defenses. So, they are bad. The Steelers already played the Browns in Week 2. In that game, the Steelers’ defensive stats looked like this. 6 sacks, 1 interception, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 touchdowns. The Steelers will close their curtain in what looks to be a defensive battle this week.

Giants – If you don’t want to pay up for the Commanders’ defense have no fear, the Giants are here. The Commanders give up the seventh most fantasy points opposing teams’ defenses. As I stated above these two teams played each other in Week 7. In that game, the Giants’ defense looked like, well Giants. They had 6 sacks, an interception, and a blocked kick. If you want to pay down in DFS this week I am doing it with the Giants.

💔Heart Breakers
Quarter Backs
Justin Herbert – The Chargers play the Packers in Week 11. The Packer’s defense is pretty good against quarterbacks. Only 1 quarterback has scored more than 20 fantasy points against the Packers this season. It is the third toughest defense against quarterbacks when it comes to quarterback play. In matchups against top-tier defenses this season, Herbert has not been good. He averages 14.79 fantasy points against them. I am not charged up to play Herbert.
Kenny Pickett – Let’s start with the fact that Picket hasn’t been good. He has yet to top 20 fantasy points this season. We can follow that up with the Cleveland Browns defense is very good. They are the second-best at defending quarterbacks. In Week 2 Kenny managed 222 yards and a touchdown against the Browns. That may be his ceiling against this team. This game should be a nice old-fashioned defensive battle.
Baker Mayfield – Baker has been cooking this season. It feels like being a journeyman quarterback agrees with him more than being a franchise quarterback did. He has been good in bad matchups, good enough that I am playing him in season-long. But; and there always is a but with a heartbreaker; the Niners give up the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. I am out on Mayfield in DFS for Week 11.
Running Backs
Christian McCaffrey – What? How can you have McCaffrey as a heartbreaker? What is wrong with you Mike? Well, hear me out before you call me an idiot. I am talking about DFS where his price is all the way up. It is unlikely that he will give you the production of 30-plus points this week to justify that price in DFS. The Buccaneers defend running backs really well. They give up the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs. Please play him as you would in season-long, but he is a no-no in DFS.
Javonte Williams – The Vikings give up the sixth-fewest fantasy points to running backs. Unfortunately for the Williams, the Broncos play the Vikings in Week 11. Williams has been great the past 3 games and I have him in season-long lineups. This is a floor game at best though. This defense held Alvin Kamara to 15 fantasy points in Week 10. Running backs have only scored 5 touchdowns against them this season, and only 5 running backs have scored double-digit fantasy points against the Vikings.
Jaylen Warren – Congratulations to Jaylen Warren for being named the Steelers’ new starting running back. This is well deserved. I am so happy for him. You get to celebrate by going up against the Browns and their defense that is top 7 against running backs. Not a single running back this season has rushed for more than 66 yards against the Browns and they have only allowed 4 rushing touchdowns.
Wide Receivers
Stefon Diggs – Stefon Diggs played against the Jets in Week 1. In that game, he had 10 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown. He is that good and he has a chance to replicate that this week. But the Jets give up the fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. Diggs is the only wide receiver to top 20 fantasy points against the Jets and only 5 wide receivers have managed double-digit fantasy scores against the Jets this season. I am not digging Stefon in Week 11.
Diontae Johnson – Another Steelers player? How is this possible? The Steelers are 6-3 and their offense must be good. No, it isn’t. The Browns’ defense on the other hand is outstanding. In Week 10, which was another tough matchup, Diontae had a miserable stat line; 4 targets, 1 reception, and 17 yards. That is my expectation for him in Week 11.
Adam Thielen – I am hopeful with the change back to Frank Reich calling the offensive plays that Thielen will have production this week. I hope he is better than his last two games where he hasn’t topped 50 yards or scored 10 fantasy points. The problem is the opponent is pretty good in Week 11. The Cowboys’ defense gives up the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. We can put together a little prayer circle for a high-volume game to push Thielen into double digits, but it may not help.
Tight Ends
Evan Engram – The Jaguars offense has seemed a little off in 2023. Engram only has 2 games of double-digit fantasy points this season. Just 2! Meanwhile, in Week 11 the Titans show up on the schedule. The Titans give up the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends. Everything is set up for failure here. Bad play, bad matchup, everything is bad. I feel so negative after writing that, I may need to go play some happy music to pick me back up.
Cade Otton – Otton was trending up as a tight end until Week 10. In that game, he had 3 targets which he turned into 2 receptions for 10 yards. That was against a Titans defense that defends tight ends well. It didn’t get any easier for Otton in Week 11. Now he gets to play against a Niners defense that has given up the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. There has been only 1 double-digit fantasy score by a tight end against the Niners this season. It will stay that way in Week 11.
NOTE: There are literally so many tight ends to tell you not to play I can’t even pick which other players to write about. What a mess tight end has been in 2023.
