The Fantasy Football Playoffs have finally arrived. After 14 weeks, you and I made it. Now, it is time to capture these championships, prize money, and bragging rights over our league mates. With that being said, the stars that got you here are not the same ones that take you to glory at times. Records mean nothing in Weeks 15-17 and it’s all about the matchups. The seeding and projections also mean nothing. Find the players with elite matchups and trust your gut! Here are Wide Receivers with plus matchups for the 2023 Fantasy Football Playoffs.
Wide Receivers with Plus Matchups for Fantasy Football Playoffs
Rashee Rice
To begin with, Rashee Rice started his rookie season off slow but has worked his way up to be the WR33 in ppg through 14 weeks. He has gotten better with every week that has passed and is the WR10 in ppg the past three weeks. With seven or more receptions in the past three weeks, Rice is slowly becoming the undisputed WR1 for the Chiefs and has gained full trust with Patrick Mahomes. Currently, Rice has 14 redzone targets which ranks him 12th amongst ALL Wide Receivers. His 422 yards after the catch also put him inside the top five at his position. In these playoffs, Rice gets a bottom-12 pass defense in the New England Patriots. Then, He gets the Raiders where he finished as the WR3 overall against them in Week 12. Finally, he ends the fantasy season against the Cincinnati Bengals, a bottom 15 pass defense.
Tyler Lockett
First things first, Tyler Lockett has most likely been the most underrated Wide Receiver during his time in the NFL. Every year, he gets overlooked on draft day and then is a tremendous help for fantasy teams. Lockett has had a down year in comparison to previous years, though. Tyler Lockett has been a top-24 Wide Receiver in Fantasy Football since 2018. Although things have been different this season as Lockett is currently at WR32 in ppg, he is still top 24 in targets and has three consecutive matchups where a top-15 finish in all three games is easily attainable.
First, he gets the Philadelphia Eagles who have given up the most fantasy ppg to Wide Receivers the past month. Then, the Tennessee Titans who are eighth the past month in ppg allowed to the position. Lastly, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers had soft matchups the last two weeks, but have to deal with Michael Pittman Jr, Ja’Marr Chase, DK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett for the Fantasy Football Playoffs.
Courtland Sutton
Out of all the Wide Receivers I will write about, Courtland Sutton has the best schedule for the 2023 Fantasy Football Playoffs. Courtland Sutton has had 14 touchdowns in his first five NFL seasons. In his second year with Russell Wilson, Sutton has 10 touchdowns with four games left. Also, Sutton is having the best season in his career from a fantasy perspective. It was a year too early as the entire fantasy community was way too high on Sutton in 2022 only for him to take off in 2023.
Sutton is top 30 only in yards, routes ran, receptions, and air yards, BUT is second in touchdowns. Volume and touchdowns are the game of Fantasy Football and Sutton is thriving in the touchdown department. Sutton faces the seventh, tenth, and twelfth defenses in terms of ppg given up to Wide Receivers. The Lions have given up the fourth most TDs to the position, the Chargers fifth most, and the Patriots twelfth most touchdowns to Wide Receivers. Get ready for Courtland Sutton to finish with a touchdown in all three of these games and help you advance in the Fantasy Football Playoffs.
Zay Flowers & Odell Beckham Jr.
The Baltimore Ravens Wide Receivers have a schedule that looks like Margot Robbie aka BEAUTIFUL. Zay Flowers and Odell Beckham get to face off against the eighth, ninth, and fourteenth-ranked defenses in terms of ppg allowed to Wide Receivers. These teams are also contenders which in turn, we should see a good amount of points and yards accumulated in all three games. At first, the Ravens get the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15. The Jaguars have given up the seventh most ppg and the third most touchdowns to Wide Receivers this season. Then, the 49ers are right behind them at eighth most ppg to Wide Receivers with the second most catches given up to the position. Then, the Ravens end the Fantasy Football playoffs against the Miami Dolphins, tied for fifth most touchdowns to the position.
Lamar Jackson has increased his pass attempts in the past two weeks having 32 and 43 attempts. He had not seen over 30 pass attempts in a game since Week 6. With that being said, these defenses in the Jaguars, 49ers, and Dolphins have good run defenses which should see Lamar Jackson passing more to Zay Flowers and Odell Beckham Jr.
