Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds: Week 6

Here we are in the full swing of things of the 2024-25 NBA Fantasy Basketball season. Despite the day off for Thanksgiving, most teams play a full schedule of four games in Week 6. With a historic injury season, opportunities are aplenty for waiver wire pickups. Keep your eyes peeled and you shall be rewarded by the fantasy Gods. To help you get started, below you can find six names to consider off the waiver wire for the upcoming week of fantasy basketball.

Week 6 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds

Naji Marshall, SG/SF/PF – Dallas Mavericks (36% rostered)

Naji Marshall is solidifying his spot as the first man off the Mavs bench and a mainstay in the closing lineup. The season started with him barely breaking 20 minutes a game but the number has moved closer to 30 minutes in recent weeks. A lot of his value is tied to Klay Thompson and his shooting on a given night, which can fluctuate. But even with Klay in the lineup, Marshall does enough to be rostered in most fantasy leagues. And his value could really rise if Thompson or Kyrie Irving miss time.

Jared McCain, PG/SG – Philadelphia 76ers (79% rostered)

Somehow Jared McCain is rostered in only 79% of Fantrax leagues. For those unaware, Jared McCain is the player who’s kept the ship steady for the 3-13 76ers while Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey have been out. Yes, that’s a joke – the ship isn’t particularly steady for the 76ers. Regardless, McCain should keep getting opportunities throughout the season, with the star players missing games.

Goga Bitadze, C – Orlando Magic (57% rostered)

Goga Bitadze has been a starter for the Magic since Paolo Banchero went down with an oblique injury. In the 11 games without Banchero, Bitadze averages 8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. He’s shooting 71.2% from the field, granted, with only 6 attempts per game. Banchero is hopeful for a Christmas return, which may end the Bitadze run but, then again, these aren’t exactly like-for-like players and Goga may still keep a big role within the rotation.

Harrison Barnes, SF/PF – San Antonio Spurs (42% rostered)

In the last 3 games, Harrison Barnes averaged 22.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3 three-pointers made, shooting 62% from the field overall. Some may say this is unsustainable, while others say just to ride the hot hand. In any case, Barnes is a competent player in the Spurs rotation, which is quite good for job security.

Ty Jerome, PG/SG – Cleveland Cavaliers (48% rostered)

Ty Jerome ranks as the best Cavs player over the last four games in category fantasy. And that’s the Cavs roster with Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. Jerome has averaged 22 points, 5 assists, and 3.8 made threes with great percentages in the timespan. In fact, he last missed a free throw on November 7.

T.J. McConnell, PG – Indiana Pacers (56% rostered)

Given the playing time, T.J. McConnell is always good for a bunch of assists and steals. For example, recently he had a game with 7 and 5, and another one with 8 and 3. Currently, he’s playing slightly above 20 minutes per game, which makes him just rosterable enough in most standard-sized leagues. And, who knows, seeing the struggles of the Pacers starting backcourt, maybe he’s in line for more minutes in the future.
