In the past, Matt Hicks and I waited until the summer to record our CFF player preview shows. However, the College Fantasy Football hobby is growing rapidly. It is clear that there is demand for CFF Power 4 (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC) QB rankings to help fantasy enthusiasts who want to join a new hobby.
In 2025, Fantrax and Scott Fish (FantasyCares) have joined forces to present the first-ever Tadpole Bowl, which is a large CFF tournament. I have been honored to play in the Scott Fish Bowl (SFB) every year since 2015 and look forward to participating in the Tadpole Bowl this summer.
At press time, there are nearly 500 people signed up to partake in the contest. Also, Eric Froton and Scott Fish have scheduled four live drafts across the nation: Austin, TX, Atlanta, GA, Las Vegas, NV, and Minnesota. There are points for Special Teams production, which make the player pool and roster construction more interesting.
Special Teams Scoring Summary:
Kick Return Yards: 0.05
Punt Return Yards: 0.05
Kickoff/Punt Return Touchdowns: 6

2025 CFF QB Primer
Matt and I have placed the Top 20 CFF P4 Quarterbacks into tiers (Mid-round Priority, Gotta Get One, Difference Makers, and Pay Up Now, Win Later) for viewers to become familiar with the position. Enjoy the show and feel free to ask any questions or post comments in the thread on YouTube.
Twitterverse on Fire!
Among P4 signal callers, who is the idyllic third quarterback on CFF rosters in large tournaments and Best Ball leagues this summer?
- Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt: 25%
- Fernando Mendoza, Indiana: 33%
- Ty Simpson, Alabama: 25%
- Kyron Drones, Virginia Tech: 17%
Scholar’s Selection: I really wanted to vote for Fernando Mendoza, who transferred to Indiana to play under coach Curt Cignetti. Nevertheless, I decided to cast my ballot for Diego Pavia. Over the past two seasons, the Vanderbilt signal caller has been an undervalued CFF asset on rosters, and he returns for a sixth season of college football. “Diego is an enigma. He is this kid who came and took the Music City by storm. His energy is infectious. His attitude is above and beyond positive,” AthleticZ PZ founder Megan Curry said after Pavia won his antitrust court case (cbssports.com).

“I’d take Diego Pavia out of the bunch for sure. I’m not reaching for upside yet at QB3, and few offer the floor of Pavia regardless of competition.” @eliotmays
“Kyron Drones for me. A post-hype sleeper with a very little price tag.” @aceholesrule
“I voted for Diego Pavia since he provides a great floor but I LOVE the upside Mendoza brings to the table.” @UW_Purple_Reign
