3 Fantasy Football Questions for the 2025 Buffalo Bills

I am doing a series where I offer up three fantasy football questions for every NFL team. I look at stats, playing time projections, projected roles, and off-season news to try and highlight the issues facing you in your 2025 fantasy football drafts. We’ll do this thing in divisional order, and this time around I’ll consider three questions for the 2025 Buffalo Bills.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

3 Fantasy Football Questions for the 2025 Buffalo Bills

Will Dalton Kincaid Bounce Back?

Dalton Kincaid had a strong rookie season after being drafted in the first round by the Buffalo Bills in 2023,  but then regressed last season. He’s a dynamic receiving threat in an offense that’s not exactly flush with them. With Josh Allen under center, Kincaid was in position to really take the next step forward. Instead, after 73 passes for 673 yards in his debut, he took a step back.

Health was in play here as Kincaid did miss four games with a knee injury. There were also struggles with blocking that kept Kincaid off the field at times. Kincaid dropped down to 43 catches for 448 yards with two touchdowns. It was the second straight season with only two touchdowns for Kincaid. As he enters his third season, Buffalo needs more from their tight end.

Not only is Kincaid healthy entering the season, but all reports are that he’s added strength. Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but the Bills are limited in receiving options.

If Kincaid improves his blocking and his 58.7% catch rate, he could be on the path to a full-blown breakout. Kincaid did get 10 red zone targets last year, along with a 29% target rate. For those who miss out on a top tight end and embrace the streaming market, Kincaid is a viable option.

Where Will James Cook’s Touchdowns Land This Season?

Not to state the obvious, but his touchdowns will be fewer than the 18 he scored last season. We know that Buffalo’s offense is focused on the ground attack, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that 16 of those 18 touchdowns did come on the ground. Considering Cook rushed for just 1,009 yards, it was quite the efficient performance.

It was the second straight year in which Cook broke the 1,000-yard mark as he looks for a new contract. The good news is that Cook did report to the mandatory minicamp, so there shouldn’t be any issues moving forward. Cook averaged 4.9 yards per carry, so with a larger workload, his production could increase. However, with Ray Davis and Ty Johnson also in the backfield, there is a limit to his upside. And we haven’t even mentioned what Allen does on the ground as well.

The good news is that Cook did carry the ball 15 times within five yards of the end zone. It should be a third straight season of more than 1,000 rushing yards for Cook, and while he should hit double-digit touchdowns, 16 is too lofty a target.

Will Keon Coleman be Fantasy Relevant?

Is the problem that Keon Coleman was miscast as a deep threat last year? With a 4.61 40-yard dash, Coleman had his share of struggles. However, as a rookie, he averaged 19.2 yards per reception. The problem, though, is that Coleman only caught half of his targets in 2024.

With the acquisition of Joshua Palmer, it’s likely that Coleman will see a role change in 2025. That could help him find a steadier role which will also help from a fantasy perspective. The problem, though, is that he’s still inconsistent.

So far this offseason, Coleman has looked better while continuing to build his chemistry with Allen. We still have to work through some drops and inconsistencies from the second-year receiver, but there is potential in place. Whether it’s fully realized by 2025 is yet to be determined. After just 556 receiving yards and four touchdowns last year, the good news is that it requires minimal fantasy investment. At this point, it seems like more of a year-three thing from Coleman.
