Week 2 is upon us, and this is the week of responding to overreactions for DraftKings lineups. The Miami Dolphins will likely be all great plays against the Patriots this week. Many will likely look elsewhere in what should be a prime rebound spot for the Miami offense. It will be the same for many other teams that underperformed in Week 1. Week 2 is the week to react, while Week 1 was the week to make predictions. Below are eight players who are great Week 2 plays.

Week 2 DraftKings Plays to Consider
Quarterback
Favorite Play: Dak Prescott (5.9k)
Prescott’s matchup with the New York Giants this weekend is ideal. The Giants’ defense did hold the Commanders and Jayden Daniels in check last week. Which, in turn, should keep Dak’s rostership in lineups relatively low. Prescott played at an MVP level against the Eagles, and his numbers would have looked better if it were not for a handful of drops by CeeDee Lamb. Javonte Williams saw both of the team’s touchdowns with the Eagles being without Jalen Carter. Expect the team to throw the ball more this week to avoid Dexter Lawrence.
Contrarian Play: Tua Tagovailoa (5.3K)
Everyone will be chasing points in the Jaguars and Bengals game. For good reason, as that game has the highest point total. However, you can get just as good value from Tua Tagovailoa on DraftKings. No one will be looking his way after that disastrous Week 1 performance against the Colts. The Dolphins still have a respectable team total of 22.5 and will have home-field advantage, which, given the conditions at Hard Rock Stadium, means a lot at this point in the year. The home team benefits from being in the shade, while the away team sits in the sun. Expect the Dolphins to bounce back in a big way today, with Tagovailoa leading the charge.
Running Back
Favorite Play: Travis Etienne Jr. (5.7K)
What a difference one week makes. All offseason, Jacksonville was heading towards a committee backfield. Now, he is the lead back in Jacksonville. And it is not a fluke either. Etienne led the league in Week 1 with 69 rushing yards over expected. Now he gets a fantastic matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in what should be a high-scoring game with the opportunity for many high-value touches. Yes, he will be in a ton of lineups, but sometimes you have to eat the chalk, and this is one of them.
Contrarian Play: Kenneth Walker III (5.6K)
After one week, can it get any more contrarian? I don’t think it can. Walker had an abysmal Week 1, averaging only two yards per carry and losing all the important work to Zach Charbonnet. Predicting how this backfield is going to play out is anyone’s guess week to week. I can guarantee one thing: no one will be eager to play Walker against a Steelers defense that gave up the fourth-most rushing yards last week. This play is the ultimate boom or bust, but it could end up in your favor if Walker sees more snaps and breaks a long run against a weak defense.

Wide Receiver
Favorite Play: Davante Adams (5.9K)
I will stay away from the most appealing game this week. Brian Thomas Jr., Tee Higgins, Travis Hunter, and Ja’Marr Chase would all be easy selections. So, let’s choose a different name. Davante Adams under 6k on DraftKings is quite appealing. Adams had eight targets last week, but that amounted to a 27% target share in a game that did not require Stafford to throw a ton. Looking at the box score, it is clear that the passing attack relies on Puka Nacua and Adams, with no other player receiving more than two targets. In a game against the Titans, where they may have to throw the ball more, I would be happy to play a receiver under 6k that could easily get ten targets.
Contraian Play: Amon-Ra St. Brown (7K)
There is no way to sugarcoat it; the Lions looked bad last week. However, with some Week 2 hindsight, we know that the Packers are legit contenders. Amon-Ra St. Brown had a weak Week 1, receiving only six targets in a game where the team looked lost. However, they should dominate the Bears on Sunday. And St. Brown will not be in many lineups. Many players will go down to Brian Thomas Jr. or Tee Higgins before considering St. Brown. Or they will look to plug in Ja’Marr Chase over St. Brown and spend up at the position. Either way, we can not forget Amon-Ra St. Brown is a WR1 in fantasy and real life, and he gets a much easier matchup this weekend with Ben Johnson and the Bears returning to town. I expect 11 to 12 targets in this one for St. Brown and for him to crush his salary.
Tight End
Favorite Play: Harold Fannin Jr. (3.1K)
So, you’re telling me the rookie got nine targets in his first game in the NFL. And his salary on DraftKings went from 3.1K to 3.1K? That feels like a mistake. Fannin Jr. faces a tougher matchup in Baltimore, but Dalton Kincaid found success last week, scoring a touchdown in the contest. The utilization for Fannin Jr. was everything a fantasy manager could want in game one from a rookie. He played inline, out wide, in the slot, and even got a carry from the wildcat. Fannin Jr. is clearly a big part of Kevin Stefanski’s plan going into the season, and I do not expect that to slow down in Week 2. Play Fannin Jr. with confidence in a matchup where Joe Flacco will have to throw the ball a ton.
Contrarian Play: Mark Andrews (4.7K)
It is hard to believe that in a game with 81 total points, Andrews scored only 1.5 PPR points. Andrews only had one catch, as Zay Flowers was the main guy in the passing offense. I do not expect that to be the case every week, but this is the week to play Andrews if you are looking for a lot of leverage at the position. The Ravens are favorites by 13.5 points. In a game, no one expects the Ravens to lose. And Andrews does some of his best work against the Browns, scoring touchdowns in both games last season. I think he’ll score again today and bring tremendous value to DraftKings lineups while doing it.
Conclusion:
Do not be afraid to take risks. I highlighted a few in this article that nobody will want to play on DraftKings today. Use that to your advantage if you wish to, as no one will go out and play any Miami Dolphins, Kenneth Walker, or Mark Andrews. These are some plays that will give lineups good leverage, so you can go after the games that project as shootouts tomorrow. My final word of advice is don’t be afraid to be different with your lineups. However, don’t feel forced to be different; play the players you think are the best plays, regardless of their Week 1 showings.
