G5 Waiver Wire Saviors
Quarterbacks
Liam Szarka, Air Force
Fantrax Rostership: 4%
Total Fantasy Points: 62.3
Fantasy Points Per Game: 20.8
Liam Szarka did not get the start in Week 4, but came in the second quarter against Boise State. He finished the game with 13 completions on 18 attempts for 246 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The reason I am suggesting Liam is because of his legs. In the game against Boise State, we saw him rush for 111 yards. He also added a touchdown on the ground. Air Force has Hawaii in Week 5 at home. Given that, the time change and altitude make me feel comfortable playing Liam Sazarka in Week 5. If you would rather wait a week, I would suggest stashing him as a top G5 Waiver Wire Option.
Amari Odom, Kennesaw State
Fantrax Rostership: 1%
Total Fantasy Points: 54.5
Fantasy Points Per Game: 18.2
Kennesaw State has been trying to find their quarterback thus far this season. Amari Odom got the start for the Owls in Week 4 against Arkansas State. He passed for 308 yards and one touchdown on 25 completions. Amari also added 101 yards and a touchdown on the ground. That’s 409 yards of total offense. Are you kidding me?!? Given that performance, I believe Odom has secured the job.
Carlos Del Rio-Wilson (Marshall) just threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns against Kennesaw State’s Week 5 opponent, Middle Tennessee. All in all, I believe Amari Odom is primed to have a nice outing in Week 5 and will be a great G5 Waiver Wire Option!

Running Backs
Alex Tecza, Navy
Fantrax Rostership: 27%
Total Fantasy Points: 54.1
Fantasy Points Per Game: 18
Alex Tecza is a great floor running back for your roster. Alex has seen 15 rushing attempts and scored in three straight games for the Midshipmen. He has not had a game with less than 70 yards on the ground. His touches per game ranks 17th, and his yards per game ranks 19th in the G5 for running backs. Not only is Tecza a play in Week 5 against Rice, but due to his consistency, Alex is a play for the rest of the 2025 season. I am shocked he is so widely available. Let’s change that because Alex Tecza is a fantastic G5 Waiver Wire Option this week.
Navy is 3-0 after a 42-23 win over Tulsa.

Dontae McMillan, Eastern Michigan University (EMU)
Fantrax Rostership: 10%
Total Fantasy Points: 65.6
Fantasy Points Per Game: 16.4
Dontae McMillan has been trending up each week of the 2025 season. His rushing attempts have gone from nine in Week 1 to 19 in Week 4. McMillan’s last four games have resulted in fantasy outputs of 14.3, 22.1, 13.5, and 15.7 points. Dontae’s 111 yards per game ranks 8th amongst G5 running backs. I believe McMillan’s yard per game is sustainable because he is averaging 14 touches per game, which ranks 29th amongst G5 running backs. Given his usage, I believe McMillan will be a solid G5 Waiver Wire Option ahead of their Week 5 contest with Central Michigan.
Wide Receivers
Dalton Stroman, Appalachian State
Fantrax Rostership: 23%
Total Fantasy Points: 48.4
Fantasy Points Per Game: 16.1
If you are in need of a wide receiver ahead of Week 5, my G5 Waiver Wire Option for you is Dalton Stroman. Amongst wide receivers in the G5, Stroman is currently ranked 18th in targets per game and 6th in yards per game. Appalachian State is passing the ball 51 times per game, which ranks 2nd nationally. Thus, I believe this offense can support multiple receiving options. The Mountaineers are coming off their bye, but prior to that Dalton had fantasy weeks of 16.8, 21.1, and 10.5 points.
Appalachian State has a date with Boise State in Week 5. Boise State just allowed Air Force to throw for 246 yards on them in Week 4. The last time we saw an Air Force quarterback throw for more than 200 yards in a game was back on November 23, 2019, when Donald Hammond III carved up New Mexico for 327 yards on nine completions. Therefore, Dalton Stroman is a great G5 Waiver Wire Option this week.
Gabriel Benyard, Kennesaw State
Fantrax Rostership: 16%
Total Fantasy Points: 64.6
Fantasy Points Per Game: 16.1
Gabriel Benyard is seeing six targets per game over their last four games. However, the Owls have been searching for a quarterback. It is hard to find rhythm in a game when you are switching quarterbacks. Kennesaw State settled on one quarterback in Week 4, Amari Odom. In Week 4, Benyard had six receptions on seven targets for 114 yards and a touchdown. The Owls’ Week 5 opponent, Middle Tennessee, allowed five receptions to Marshall’s Demarcus Lacey for 116 yards and a touchdown just last week.
I do want to note, Gabriel Benyard has dual WR/RB eligibility on Fantrax. He is mainly a wide receiver, so I believe he will be best utilized in the wide receiver spot. However, with so many bye weeks, you could be hurting at running back. Thus, Gabriel Benyard is my G5 Waiver Wire Option ahead of Week 5.
Kennesaw State is 2-2 after holding on to beat Arkansas State 28-21.

Tight Ends
Eli Finley, Louisiana Tech (LA Tech)
Fantrax Rostership: 4%
Total Fantasy Points: 37.2
Fantasy Points Per Game: 9.3
Eli Finley is averaging the most yards per game in the G5 with 58 yards. This yardage is heavily inflated due to his Week 4 performance against Southern Mississippi, where he secured six balls on as many targets for 155 yards. While I understand one cannot rely on that weekly performance, Eli is leading the team in receptions at 14. Finley is a tight end who could lead his team in receptions and yardage by season’s end. This Louisiana Tech defense is for real, too, which sets up the offense with a shorter field position. This certainly helps with opportunities to punch it in the end zone.
