NFL DFS Late Slate Picks Week 8

Here we are at the Late Slate for Week 8

Week 7 reminded us why DFS is a rollercoaster: touchdowns, turnovers, and tilt all in one afternoon. The key takeaway? Stay sharp and trust the process.

What We Learned

  1. Rushing QBs still rule. That rushing floor keeps lineups alive. See Drake Maye and Bo Nix from Week 7.
  2. Volume matters. Don’t trust boom-or-bust players after a big score, unless the path is clear to more production.
  3. Injuries open doors. Cheap pivots can turn contests your way.
  4. Defensive trends are real. Attack the weak secondaries, fade the traps.
  5. Smart chalk wins. You don’t have to be different just right.

Now let’s hit the Late Slate for Week 8 and find those Money Makers who’ll make your Sunday count.

Week 8 NFL DFS Late Slate Picks

Quarterbacks

Bo Nix, Denver Broncos

The Broncos face the Cowboys in Week 8, and while Dallas looked better in Week 7, they still allow the most fantasy points to opposing QBs. Bo Nix just torched the Giants for 279 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, plus 48 yards and 2 more on the ground. With a 50.5 over/under, this one screams shootout. Fire up Nix in DFS.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys play the Broncos in Week 8. The over-under is the highest at 51.5, which means everyone thinks it will be a shootout. Dak is throwing the ball 37 times per game. He has CeeDee Lamb back and healthy. The Broncos defense is good, but that never seems to matter to this Cowboys offense. The Cowboys believe the best defense is a good offense this year, essentially because their defense is horrible. Dak will be slinging all over the place in Week 8.

Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

The Colts play the Titans in Week 8. The Titans actually do not give up a lot of fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Jones simply seems to get you to 20 fantasy points often. I like Jones this week as a sneaky play to reach his average against a bad team. HINT: Pay up at running back in Week 8.

Running Backs

Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints

The Saints take on the Bucs in Week 8, and Tampa continues to bleed receiving yards to opposing RBs. Yeah, Kamara’s been quiet, but with Kendre Miller out and a defense that can’t stop backs in the passing game, this sets up as a perfect bounce-back spot. Volume plus matchup equals upside, which means that Kamara is in play.

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts

The Titans are the next opponent for Jonathan Taylor. Everyone, and I mean everyone, runs on the Titans. Yes, even Rhamondre Stevenson and the Patriots had success running the ball against the Titans. In Week 3, Taylor ran for 102 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Titans. Expect a repeat performance in Week 8. Encore, encore!

JK Dobbins, Denver Broncos

Dobbins has 80 yards and/or a touchdown in all but 1 game this season. He is simply producing solid numbers in 2025. In Week 8, he gets to play against a Cowboys defense that gives up the 5th most fantasy points to opposing teams running backs. You see where I am going here, the infamous start everyone against the Cowboys. Sometimes it is that simple.

Wide Receivers

Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos

Which WR am I firing up against the Cowboys this week? Courtland Sutton is an easy call. Don’t let last week’s “bounce-back” fool you; Dallas clamped down on Washington’s backups. If they try that same man coverage on Sutton, he’s going to torch them. He’s in every one of my lineups. And don’t sleep on Marvin Mims or Troy Franklin as sneaky upside plays in Week 8.

Chimera Dike, Tennessee Titans

Chasing points? Not this time. The Titans face the Colts in Week 8, and Indy gives up the second-most fantasy points to opposing WRs. With Tyler Lockett out, Dike steps into more snaps and a juicy matchup against a defense that struggles with the deep ball, his specialty. After turning 4 targets into 4 catches for 70 yards in Week 7, Dike’s stock is rising fast. The league’s most interesting name is now interesting for what he’s doing on the field.

Tez Johnson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Almost all the Buccaneers’ starting skill position players are out. You know what? Baker Mayfield does not care. He will simply throw it to whoever is on the field. Tez will be on the field. Tez had an 18% target share in Week 7. He has touchdowns in two straight games. I think he will be involved. Play him, play Tez!

$4,300 on FanDuel

Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints

Olave is second in the league in targets with 71. Only Ja’Marr Chase has more than him. So the volume will be there in Week 8. The Buccaneers will get up, and the Saints will throw to catch up in this one. Olave should see the numbers to give him production.

Tight Ends

Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In Week 8, Mike Evans is out. Chris Godwin is out. Sterling Shepard is out. Bucky Irving is out. Otton will be the second or third option in the passing game for the Buccaneers against the Saints. He saw an 18% target share in Week 7 with 9 targets. Tied with Tez Johnson for second most on the team.

Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts

Warrner has scored a touchdown in 3 straight games. In 6 of 7 games, he has either surpassed 70 yards or scored a touchdown. He is the top option in the Colts’ passing game. I do not feel the need to write much more than that against the Titans. Play him.

Defense

Indianapolis Colts

The Titans did it; they officially now give up the most fantasy points to opposing defenses. Big shoutout to the Patriots for helping them secure the crown last week. In Week 8, the Colts get the privilege of keeping the Titans at #1 on the “stream this defense” list. Opposing defenses are averaging 13.29 fantasy points per week against Tennessee. Love you, Titans, but thanks for the DFS juice.
