👻 Halloween Week Magic: Ghostly Grit & Glowing Pumpkins

Jordan Love lit up the scoreboard with 28 fantasy points, finishing as QB1 in a performance that reignited Green Bay’s offense. Drake Maye kept his MVP-level glow alive with 27.3 points (QB2). Joe Flacco proved he’s no ghost, landing QB7 (24.3) in another vintage showing.

Not everyone escaped the haunted house. Dak Prescott got lost in Denver’s fog (QB22). Baker Mayfield turned ice-cold with just 4.1 points. Kirk Cousins left fantasy managers howling after a meager 7.1-point outing.

Now, as Halloween week reaches its full moon, fantasy managers must trust their instincts, brave the dark, and set lineups ready for ghostly surprises.

🔥 High-Total Games (Shootout Potential – 47+)

These matchups are bursting with fantasy fireworks — perfect for stacking quarterbacks and unleashing some Halloween-week offense.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills — O/U 52.5 (BUF -1)

When Patrick Mahomes meets Josh Allen, it’s always fantasy magic. Both quarterbacks rank inside the top five in our Week 9 QB Rankings. Expect Mahomes to keep his MVP fire burning while Allen carves up Kansas City’s defense like a Halloween pumpkin. Their 2022 playoff duel lit up the scoreboard for 78 total points — this one could do the same.

Chicago Bears @ Cincinnati Bengals — O/U 52.0 (CIN -2.5)

Caleb Williams looks ready for a Halloween rebound. His creativity and calm make him a strong QB1 play in our Fantasy Football Week 9 QB Rankings. Joe Flacco continues to defy Father Time, holding mid-QB1 value in this clash of youth and experience.

Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins — O/U 50.0 (MIA -7.5)

Lamar Jackson is rested, recharged, and ready to haunt Miami’s defense. He’s a locked-in top-three QB play. Tua Tagovailoa faces a relentless Ravens front that should pressure him all game.

Indianapolis Colts @ Pittsburgh Steelers — O/U 50.0 (IND -3)

Daniel Jones keeps showing fantasy consistency — a treat for managers who stuck with him. Aaron Rodgers is a trick-or-treat play: risky but capable of surprising if the game script opens up.

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants — O/U 49.0 (SF -2.5)

Can Brock Purdy finally come out to play? Each week he seems close to suiting up, only to be ruled out late in favor of Mac Jones. If Purdy starts this time, he’s a locked-in top-10 quarterback in our Week 9 QB Rankings. On the other side, Jaxson Dart continues to impress. He’s been phenomenal and is quickly becoming matchup-proof. Expect him to perform well at home against a middle-of-the-road 49ers defense.

⚖️ Mid-Range Totals (Balanced – 44 to 47)

These games could go either way — full of fantasy candy or defensive cobwebs.

Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions — O/U 47.5 (DET -9.5)

At home in the dome, Jared Goff is like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin — full of belief and ready to deliver. He’s a solid QB1 option this week in the Week 9 QB Rankings. Whether it’s J.J. McCarthy returning or Max Brosmer (who?) making his first start, any Minnesota quarterback should be avoided.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Las Vegas Raiders — O/U 45.0 (JAC -3)

Trevor Lawrence returns from a bye ready to run and lead his offense. Expect low-end QB1 or high-end QB2 numbers. Geno Smith remains a deep-league streamer at best.

Carolina Panthers @ Green Bay Packers — O/U 45.0 (GB -13)

Jordan Love is heating up at the right time. He should follow his heroic Week 8 with another strong outing at home. Bryce Young (ankle) should practice this week, but his road matchup in Green Bay makes him a risky start.

Atlanta Falcons @ New England Patriots — O/U 44.5 (NE -5.5)

Drake Maye has been pure Halloween magic — a top-five QB who keeps turning defenses into ghosts. Keep him locked in for another strong week in our Fantasy Football Week 9 QB Rankings. Michael Penix Jr. should be avoided in all formats.

New Orleans Saints @ L.A. Rams — O/U 44.5 (LAR -14)

Matthew Stafford gets a comfy home matchup against a fading Saints defense, putting him firmly on the QB1/ high-end QB2 radar for Week 9. If the Rams jump ahead early, Stafford’s passing volume could dip, but he should do enough damage early to stay fantasy-relevant. Meanwhile, Tyler Shough was named the starter over Spencer Rattler, but don’t take the bait — he’s nowhere near startable. That’s a Halloween trick you’ll want to leave at the door.

🛑 Low-Total Games (Defensive Grind – 43 or Less)

Expect slower, grindy games — a few fantasy scares could lurk here.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Tennessee Titans — O/U 43.5 (LAC -10.5)

Justin Herbert is coming off a QB3 finish with 26.3 fantasy points. He now draws a cake matchup against a Titans defense that has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks over the past three weeks. Herbert should stay hot and deliver another strong outing. Ward, meanwhile, is a desperate Superflex option only — bench him if possible.

Denver Broncos @ Houston Texans — O/U 40.0 (HOU -1)

Bo Nix faces a tough road test but stays calm under pressure. His mobility gives him a safe QB2 floor. C.J. Stroud hasn’t rediscovered his 2023 magic yet, but he still carries mid-QB2 upside — especially if Nico Collins returns.

🌙 Primetime Magic — Sunday & Monday Night

Seattle Seahawks @ Washington Commanders — O/U 46.0 (SEA -3.5)

Sam Darnold draws a friendly matchup against Washington’s struggling secondary. He’s a confident QB2 start this week. If Jayden Daniels is healthy, his rushing upside keeps him locked in as a top-10 play in our Week 9 QB Rankings.

Arizona Cardinals @ Dallas Cowboys — O/U 54.0 (DAL -3)

Dak Prescott looks to shake off last week’s ghosts with a strong home performance. Kyler Murray’s dual-threat skills give him QB1 upside against a Dallas defense that has struggled lately. Expect fireworks to close the spooky season.

💀 Final Thoughts

Halloween week is here — the candy’s flowing, the pumpkins are glowing, and the fantasy tension is high. Every start-sit call feels like a flicker in the dark, but that’s what makes this stretch magical.

Keep your lanterns lit. Trust your gut. Don’t let one bad matchup haunt you. The best fantasy treats often come from quarterbacks everyone left for dead.
