As we roll into Week 15 — Round One of the fantasy playoffs — the season feels a lot like the Griswold family Christmas: lights flickering, tempers rising, expectations sky-high, and yet we keep coming back for more. That’s the beauty and the curse of fantasy football. Injuries, weather, late-season slumps, and wildly unexpected performances (looking at you, Jalen Hurts) all collide in the most chaotic, wonderful time of the year.

The good news? You’ve made it this far. The bad news? The margin for error is gone. Matchups matter more than ever, tendencies sharpen, and the smallest edge — a dome game, a pass-funnel defense, or even a QB finally waking up at the right time — can swing an entire season.
This week’s matchups bring a juicy mix of elite ceilings, tricky road spots, revenge narratives, and a couple of “hold your nose and hope” plays. Before we dive into the Week 15 QB rankings, let’s take a quick look back at how last week’s signal-callers fared.
🔙 Looking Back: What Week 14 Taught Us
Week 14 also gave us the full holiday light show of quarterback performances.
Josh Allen did his usual ho-hum thing by casually dropping 37.8 fantasy points, reminding everyone that his “floor” is most quarterbacks’ ceiling. Meanwhile, even he couldn’t completely steal the spotlight from rookie sensation Shedeur Sanders, who came out of nowhere and put every bit of his talent on full display — four total touchdowns, 34.5 fantasy points, and a shocking QB2 finish that nobody saw coming. Additionally, Joe Burrow kept his post-injury heater rolling, grinding out a QB3 finish in a snowy slugfest against Buffalo’s secondary.
On the opposite end of the holiday cheer spectrum, Jalen Hurts single-handedly torpedoed fantasy seasons everywhere. He turned a primetime matchup into a horror movie, coughing up turnovers like Aunt Mildred’s fruitcake at the dinner table, and stumbled to a miserable 4.4 fantasy points. If you survived that and still made the playoffs, I’d love to shake your hand — and, more importantly, reassure you that he has a fantastic fantasy-playoff schedule ahead. Because of this, a bounce-back is coming.
Just behind him, Jayden Daniels limped to 3.7 fantasy points before re-injuring his left elbow and leaving the game for good. At this point, Washington needs to seriously consider pulling the plug on the sophomore signal-caller’s season and preserving their franchise quarterback for next year. Finally, to cap it all off, the mini GOAT himself, Patrick Mahomes, finished as the QB25 with only 8.3 fantasy points in what can best be described as a “we’re all just trying to get through the holiday” type of performance.
🔥 High-Total Games (50+)
These matchups carry real shootout juice — ideal for stacking top-tier QBs and leaning into upside.
- Detroit Lions @ Los Angeles Rams — O/U 55.0
Jared Goff (QB14) — Revenge game incoming. Goff’s been sharp all year and always looks comfortable indoors. With this matchup projecting as the highest total on the slate, he profiles as a steady, high-end QB2 with a safe floor and legitimate upside. You can count on solid volume and multiple scoring opportunities.
Matthew Stafford (QB3) — Revenge game loading. Yep — both quarterbacks have history here. Stafford has been in matchup-cooking mode, and with the Rams pushing tempo at home, he brings top-tier QB1 upside. The volume, red-zone chances, and big-play windows all point toward a strong start.
- Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals — O/U 51.5
Lamar Jackson (QB2) — Lamar finally snapped out of his two-week slump, finishing as the QB7 last week. Just in time, too, with a confident Joe Burrow and a nothing-to-lose Bengals squad on deck. His rushing floor keeps him elite regardless of matchup, and this neutral-field spot still offers plenty of upside if Baltimore leans into his legs and creativity. He remains a high-ceiling QB1.
Joe Burrow (QB4) — Burrow is feeling it right now, and this matchup is far more playable than it looks on paper. Expect heavy pass volume as Cincinnati tries to trade blows with Baltimore. He’s an easy top-five play.
- Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots — O/U 49.5
Josh Allen (QB1) — Allen holds the QB1 spot for a reason. The elite dual-threat work and red-zone domination are still fully intact, and he rebounded in a huge way after two down weeks by torching Cincinnati for 37.8 fantasy points. Even with the possibility of messy weather, his ceiling remains massive and his floor remains as stable as it gets.
Drake Maye (QB6) — It’s a tough assignment, but he gets it at home, and the path to volume is there if Allen forces New England into a catch-up script. Maye stays firmly in the QB1 mix thanks to his ability to extend plays, hit chunk gains, and rack up attempts in pass-heavy game flow.
⚖️ Mid-Range Games (44–49)
Balanced games — could turn into shootouts or defensive slugfests depending on script.
- Minnesota Vikings @ Dallas Cowboys — O/U 47.5
J.J. McCarthy (QB16) — After struggling in Weeks 11 and 12 and then missing Week 13 with a concussion, McCarthy bounced back in a big way, finishing as the QB10 in last week’s demolition of Washington. Now he gets the least stingy defense in football — the Dallas Cowboys. I’m playing this one conservatively, but the Wolverines product absolutely carries mid-range QB1 upside.
Dak Prescott (QB8) — Dak has been on a heater, putting up QB1 numbers over the past three weeks. Even in a tougher matchup, he remains matchup-proof at home. You should feel confident rolling him out as a strong QB1 once again.
- Washington Commanders @ New York Giants — O/U 47.0
Marcus Mariota (QB11) — Down goes Jayden Daniels (again). Mariota should reclaim the starting job, and his combination of efficiency and rushing ability keeps him firmly in the QB2/low-end QB1 mix. He’s volatile on the road, but the rushing floor keeps him relevant.
Jaxson Dart (QB7) — Dart continues to flash and now gets a beatable secondary at home. Washington just allowed a struggling McCarthy to score three times, so Dart should have no trouble moving the ball and creating scoring chances.
- Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers — O/U 44.5
Kirk Cousins (QB27) — Trust is understandably low, but the matchup and total at least keep him on the streaming radar. He’s a deep-league or desperation-only option unless your wire is barren.
Baker Mayfield (QB12) — Baker has settled back into efficient, steady football. At home with a middling total, he’s a viable low-end QB1 for anyone needing a safe, stabilizing option.
- Tennessee Titans @ San Francisco 49ers — O/U 44.5
Cam Ward (QB31) — Rough spot. On the road against one of the toughest defenses in the league, Ward is strictly an emergency play. Low floor, low ceiling.
Brock Purdy (QB9) — Purdy’s efficiency and mastery of the play-action game keep him comfortably in mid-QB1 range. Even with a modest total, he offers one of the safer floors this week.
- Green Bay Packers @ Denver Broncos — O/U 43.0
Jordan Love (QB18) — The volatility is real with Love, but the upside is too. On the road against Denver, he slots in as a mid-range QB2 with room to spike if Green Bay turns this into a tempo push.
Bo Nix (QB15) — Nix’s poise and clean decision-making give him weekly streaming appeal. He brings a stable floor and low variance, making him a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 even against a scrappy Packers defense.
- Indianapolis Colts @ Seattle Seahawks — O/U 42.5
Philip Rivers (QB32) — Old Man Rivers returns from retirement to steer a powerhouse Colts team for the stretch run. Expect Indianapolis to lean heavily on Jonathan Taylor, keeping Rivers in deep-league-only territory.
Sam Darnold (QB21) — Darnold has been quietly serviceable and can pop in the right script. Against a middle-of-the-pack Colts defense at home, he’s a mid-to-low-end QB2.
- Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs — O/U 42.0
Justin Herbert (QB19) — It’s been rough: QB17, QB31, QB19, and QB17 over his last four games. Add the Chiefs’ defense and a low total, and his ceiling gets capped even further. Still, the volume and weapons keep him on the radar in deeper formats.
Patrick Mahomes II (QB10) — Even in lower-total matchups, Mahomes is an automatic start. The ceiling remains intact, and multi-score games are always in play regardless of environment.
- Arizona Cardinals @ Houston Texans — O/U 42.0
Jacoby Brissett (QB22) — Brissett’s mobility and willingness to push the ball give him some streaming juice, but the matchup is rough. Treat him as a mid-to-low QB2 in scripts where Arizona is forced to throw.
C.J. Stroud (QB20) — Stroud’s upside is undeniable, and Arizona has exploitable coverage weaknesses. Consider him a mid-range QB2 with a path to spike week value.
❄️ Low-Total Games (Under 44)
Games that project slow and defensive — limit QB upside.
- New York Jets @ Jacksonville Jaguars — O/U 41.5
Tyrod Taylor (QB30) — Tyrod exited Sunday’s game early with a groin injury and didn’t return. If he suits up, he brings a rushing element but offers a very limited passing ceiling. He’s strictly a desperation or superflex-only play.
Trevor Lawrence (QB13) — Trevor has shown enough consistency to be trusted most weeks, but the low total hints at a capped ceiling. Still, he’s startable in single-QB leagues thanks to his ability to create with his legs when the moment calls for it.
- Miami Dolphins @ Pittsburgh Steelers — O/U 41.5
Tua Tagovailoa (QB28) — Tua’s passing ceiling has swung wildly this season, and this low total doesn’t do him any favors. He’s a high-risk start who needs the right matchup and game script to hit.
Aaron Rodgers (QB25) — Rodgers is still very much matchup- and environment-dependent. He’s only viable in deeper formats or if you’re pressed for options.
- Cleveland Browns @ Chicago Bears — O/U 40.0
Shedeur Sanders (QB23) — Shedeur’s rookie surge continues to impress. He’s shown the ability to win weeks and creates real fantasy upside even in tougher matchups. If you’re chasing upside, the Colorado product remains a strong consideration.
Caleb Williams (QB17) — Williams has all the playmaking ability in the world, but the Bears’ recent offensive struggles and a low total suppress his ceiling. He’s more of a flex/backup option in most formats this week.
- Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints — O/U 40.0
Bryce Young (QB26) — Young remains boom-or-bust, and this low total leans heavily toward the bust side. He’s only playable for managers who need to swing big.
Tyler Shough (QB24) — Shough doesn’t bring much passing upside, but his legs give him fringe viability in deep leagues. Not recommended in single-QB setups.
- Las Vegas Raiders @ Philadelphia Eagles — O/U 38.5
Geno Smith (QB29) — Geno left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury and didn’t return. Coach Pete Carroll said they won’t know more until later in the week. If he does play, he’s merely serviceable in friendlier game scripts — but this matchup is anything but friendly. A low total, cold environment, and tough road spot all point to a bench-level play unless you’re desperate in superflex.
Jalen Hurts (QB5) — Despite last week’s disaster, Hurts remains near the top of the rankings because of his insane goal-line role and rushing upside. At home against a spiraling Raiders team, this is a get-right spot. He should be trusted as a locked-in QB1 this week and moving forward.
