Touchdowns can make or break a fantasy football matchup. For these bold predictions I am going to use red zone opportunities, explosive play potential, and individual defensive matchups can help identify players with touchdown upside even when they aren’t the first names fantasy managers think of. For Week 7, I’m targeting three players with different paths to scoring: a tight end who has already produced near the goal line, another tight end who can take advantage of Detroit’s scoring opportunities, and a wide receiver whose versatility gives him a chance to break through for a touchdown.

3 Bold Touchdown Predictions for Week 7 of Fantasy Football

Pat Freiermuth Scores Against New Orleans

My first bold prediction is Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth finding the end zone against the New Orleans Saints. Freiermuth is an interesting touchdown candidate because his value isn’t dependent on piling up receiving yards. His involvement near the goal line gives him a realistic path to scoring, even if he doesn’t lead Pittsburgh in targets.

The Case for a Touchdown: Freiermuth’s 2026 production through four games includes 14 receptions on 19 targets for 125 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. He has also recorded three targets inside the red zone, converting two of those opportunities into touchdowns. That is a small sample, but it shows Pittsburgh has been willing to look his way when scoring opportunities arise. The Steelers have also thrown on 71% of their plays inside the 20-yard line, which gives Freiermuth a potential advantage as a pass-catching option near the goal line.

How the Matchup Could Help: Pittsburgh faces New Orleans on Sunday in Week 7. The key for this prediction is whether the Steelers can sustain drives and create opportunities inside the red zone. If they reach scoring territory, Freiermuth doesn’t need a high volume receiving day to deliver. One well-placed target near the goal line could be enough. His role as a tight end also gives Pittsburgh another option when the field gets shorter, and defenses have less space to cover.

The Takeaway: Freiermuth is my touchdown prediction against New Orleans because he has already converted red zone opportunities into scores this season. I’m betting Pittsburgh gives him another chance to capitalize near the goal line.

Sam LaPorta Scores Against Green Bay

My second prediction is Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta scoring a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers. LaPorta is a proven scoring threat in Detroit’s offense, and this matchup gives him an opportunity to make an impact in a game that could feature plenty of points.

The Case for a Touchdown: Through five games in 2026, LaPorta has recorded 27 receptions for 316 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That production gives us a solid starting point for this prediction: he has already found the end zone three times, and he remains an important receiving option for Detroit. Tight ends can be especially dangerous around the goal line because they can exploit mismatches against linebackers and defensive backs.

How the Matchup Could Help: Green Bay will need to account for Detroit’s receiving weapons across the field, which can create opportunities for LaPorta when the Lions get into scoring territory. If the Packers focus on limiting Detroit’s outside receivers or have to respect the running game near the goal line, LaPorta could benefit from a favorable matchup over the middle. The important factor is Detroit’s ability to move the ball into the red zone and keep LaPorta involved once it gets there.

The Takeaway: I’m predicting LaPorta scores against Green Bay. His three touchdowns through five games demonstrate that he has already been productive as a scorer this season, and another red zone opportunity could lead to his fourth.

Rashid Shaheed Scores Against Kansas City

My final bold prediction is Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed finding the end zone against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the least obvious pick of the three, but that’s exactly what makes it a bold prediction. Shaheed has the speed to create an explosive play, and his ability to contribute as both a receiver and a runner gives Seattle different ways to get the ball into his hands.

The Case for a Touchdown: Through six games, Shaheed has caught 14 passes for 162 receiving yards and has yet to score a receiving touchdown. He has also recorded three rushing attempts for 39 yards and one rushing touchdown. That rushing production is important to this prediction: Seattle has already shown it can use Shaheed beyond traditional receiving routes, giving him another possible path to the end zone. His receiving numbers haven’t been especially productive so far, but his speed means one touch can change the outcome.

How the Matchup Could Help: Seattle hosts Kansas City on Sunday night in Week 7. For Shaheed to score, the Seahawks need to find ways to create space and get him the ball in situations where he can use his speed. That could mean a deep shot, a designed touch, or a play that catches the defense off guard. Kansas City’s defensive coverage and ability to limit explosive plays will be important, so this isn’t a prediction based on a guaranteed favorable matchup. It’s a bet on Seattle finding one creative way to get Shaheed involved near the end zone.

The Takeaway: Shaheed is my under-the-radar touchdown prediction for Week 7. His lack of receiving touchdowns so far makes this a bold call, but his 39 rushing yards on three attempts and one rushing score show that Seattle can use him in more than one way. I’m predicting he turns one of those opportunities into a touchdown against Kansas City.

    Final Bold Predictions Recap

    • Pat Freiermuth: Anytime touchdown vs. New Orleans
    • Sam LaPorta: Anytime touchdown vs. Green Bay
    • Rashid Shaheed: Anytime touchdown vs. Kansas City
