Fantasy Football Week 8 Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

Week 8 is here, and that means another week of my top wide receiver sleepers and streamers. We’re also right around the midpoint of the fantasy football season, so if you’re down on the leaderboard, now is the time to lock in. Week 8 brings byes for Nico Collins, Chris Olave, and Malik Nabers.

Week 8 Wide Receiver Sleepers

Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings (at Detroit Lions)

With the exception of his Week 3 performance, Jordan Addison has been mid all season. But Addison is a huge sleeper this week against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are giving up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers at 31.6 per game. I know Addison hasn’t done much lately, but he has only six fewer targets this season than Justin Jefferson. The matchup is golden this week for Addison, and you should start him, especially if you have Collins or Olave on a bye.

Jakobi Meyers, Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. Indianapolis Colts)

Jakobi Meyers has been a bit quiet since Week 3, and it seems like the Jaguars have a new favorite wide receiver each week. But it’s clear Meyers is the No. 2 wide receiver in this offense. Before the bye week, Meyers had 10 targets in Week 6 but brought in only five of them. It’s clear he’s getting open and getting his looks. The Jaguars have also played exceptionally well at home, putting up 119 points in four games compared with just 35 in their two road games.

Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills (vs. Baltimore Ravens)

This is a sneaky sleeper pick, but based on this matchup, I believe Khalil Shakir could have a monster game. The Ravens defense is also giving up 29.2 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Shakir leads the team in targets with 32. This game should be a high-scoring affair if Lamar Jackson is back in the lineup next week.

Week 8 Wide Receiver Streamers

Omar Cooper Jr., New York Jets (vs. Las Vegas Raiders)

You need to ride Omar Cooper Jr. while he’s hot. He’s slowly getting scooped up in leagues, and this week, you need to pick him up because he has a juicy matchup against the Raiders. Cooper has back-to-back games with a touchdown and has put up more than 100 yards in each of those games. He’s extremely talented and highly electric when it comes to making big plays.

DeMario Douglas, New England Patriots (at Miami Dolphins)

The Dolphins are a tricky team. Either their defense is locked down, or they’re giving up a ton of points through the air. A few weeks ago, I would have said to stay away from the Patriots offense, but they’re starting to look like the Super Bowl contenders they were last year. Douglas was bad last week, but before that, he had a total of three touchdowns in Weeks 5 and 6. It doesn’t seem like A.J. Brown is going to be a factor, as he has had 16 targets over the last two weeks but has come down with only six receptions.

Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders (at New York Jets)

We talked about Cooper, but on the other side, Tre Tucker is a player worth streaming most weeks. Tucker honestly should be a flex start every week, but because he isn’t the biggest name, he gets overlooked. However, numbers don’t lie. He has three touchdowns in his last two games, and over that span, he has 200 yards on 10 receptions.
