With four teams on bye and players having to hit the bench, it might be time to make a move or two to help out our fantasy rosters for Week 8. There are a few buy-low trade targets that might be able to supplant the production fantasy managers are missing this week. Some players may be backing up other players on their teams but are still getting enough work to plug into lineups. Other player may have had a few bad games, lowering their fantasy value. Remember, fantasy value changes from week to week, and this opens up opportunities to have some engaging trade discussions. Don’t waste the chance to get a player that could add value to your team.

Week 8 Fantasy Trade Targets
Keenan Allen, WR – IND
With all the rumors surrounding Josh Downs and Jonathan Taylor as potential trade candidates, Keenan Allen should have even more opportunity for targets. Remember, Alec Pierce is still working his way back from a heel injury and hasn’t been cleared for practice yet. Allen would get even more work as the number one option in the Colts’ passing game. Allen is averaging 7.2 targets heading into Week 8, and if Josh Downs is traded, that would leave another 46 targets on the table. Allen would be one of my priority targets to trade for if the fantasy manager isn’t using him. Especially if I need a wide receiver.
Breece Hall, RB – NYJ
Breece Hall has missed the last three games dealing with a quad injury. In his stead, Braelon Allen has been doing a solid job as the lead back. Hall was reportedly able to practice heading into Week 8, but has been listed as Questionable. Fantasy managers are hoping to get Hall back this week, as it would have made more sense to simply put Hall on injured reserve to recover from the quad. Hall was averaging 14.2 fantasy points per game prior to the injury, so we know he can perform when he’s healthy. Running backs are hard to come by because of the amount of injuries that have happened this season. Making a solid offer for Hall would be the way to go if you want to get him on your fantasy roster.
Travis Kelce, TE – KC
Kelce got off to a good start with three double-digit fantasy point games from Weeks 1-3. Over that span, Kelce ranked as the TE2, averaging 16.4 fantasy points per game. Over the last three weeks, it’s been a different story. Kelce hasn’t cracked double digits over the last three weeks, averaging 7.2 fantasy points per game. With the downturn in fantasy points, this makes Kelce a perfect buy-low candidate. Kelce is still going to be involved in the Chiefs’ offense, and with the Chiefs’ wide receivers struggling, Kelce is the only trustworthy pass-catching option Mahomes knows he can rely on. Kelce is also past his bye week, so you won’t have to replace him down the stretch.
Rome Odunze, WR – CHI
There was a belief that Rome Odunze was going to take off this season. But so far, Odunze has been a mid-tier player at best. Odunze is averaging 11.7 fantasy points per game, but the issue is the amount of volume he can get in the Bears’ offense. Luther Burden, D’Andre Swift, and Colston Loveland are all being involved in the offense. At times, that leaves Odunze out in the cold at times. Odunze
Mike Wilson, WR – ARI4
Mike Wilson was promoted to the WR1 after Marvin Harrison was traded to the Houston Texans. However, it hasn’t worked out the way fantasy managers thought it would. Over the last three weeks, Wilson ranks as the WR32 and averaged 10.4 fantasy points per game. So what makes Wilson a trade target at this point of the game? Wilson is still averaging a solid target share. Wilson is still getting just over nine targets per game as Jacoby Brissett’s top target at the wide receiver position. This still makes Wilson a solid trade target despite the dip in fantasy production.
Rico Dowdle, RB – PIT
Jaylen Warren is the clear RB1 for the Pittsburgh Steelers after starting strong this season. That left Rico Dowdle in the background until recently. Dowdle was also dealing with injuries that limited his snaps. Now Mike McCarthy is adding Dowdle into the offense, though still behind Jaylen Warren. But it looks like Dowdle still has enough of a role to be viable even as a flex option. In Week 7, Dowdle saw six targets for 45 receiving yards while adding another 41 yards on the ground. This gave him a 14.6 fantasy-point week despite seeing 16 total touches compared to 21 touches from Warren. Dowdle also holds value as if something happens to Jaylen Warren, Dowdle would step in as the lead back for the Steelers.
