Every Fantrax manager knows that Waiver Wire and Trade acquisitions can make or break your Fantasy EPL season. This Gameweek 16 article is here to help managers pick up the best Premier League players possible from the waiver wire, as well as suggest players to potentially target for a trade with a fellow manager!
Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 30% ownership or below on Fantrax. These players will also have a favorable run of fixtures upcoming, so they could perform very well over the upcoming period! Trade Targets will be players who look set to do well over the upcoming period, but their ownership statistics suggest they are probably taken in most draft leagues!
Essential reading before the waiver requests process!
Gameweek 16 Waiver Wire Targets
Mason Greenwood
Position: Forward
Team: Manchester United
Ownership: 13%
Average Points per Match: 1.79
Next 5 Fixtures: mci (A), EVE (H), wat (A), NEW (H), bur (A)
Prospects: It seems Martial could be set for a spell on the side-lines. Greenwood lined up as his replacement vs. Spurs, and now could see a lot more starts. Getting 4 points in a solid win for United should be a sign for more to come. United has a decent attacking schedule after this weekend, which could see some returns for the young forward. Greenwood has finally earned his managers’ trust and should be picked up ahead of Gameweek 16. I would look to use a top waiver wire claim ahead of Gameweek 16 if you are in need of a FWD3. A tempting prospect could be to waiver in Greenwood, and after a good game or two try to sell him to the Martial owner for a startable asset.
Christian Fuchs
Position: Defender
Team: Leicester City
Ownership: 1%
Average Points per Match: 6.0
Next 5 Fixtures: avl (A), NOR (H), mci (A), LIV (H), whu (A)
Prospects: Fuchs got 17.5 points in a midweek start due to Chilwell’s minor injury. There is no current news on how serious the injury for Chilwell is. This will give Fuchs the possibility of starting on Sunday. He is worth a speculative add in case he does get the start. Leicester have been solid defensively as of late and could get another clean sheet at Aston Villa. If Chilwell manages to recover, Fuchs probably won’t start, but he is worth the last spot on your bench until line-ups are announced. I would use a low-end waiver claim to get in Fuchs ahead of the weekend. If Fuchs starts he is definitely a DEF2 over the short term with DEF1 upside.
Ismaila Sarr
Position: Forward
Team: Watford
Ownership: 9%
Average Points per Match: 3.5
Next 5 Fixtures: CPL (H), liv (A), MUN (H), shu (A), AVL (H)
Prospects: Sarr has started 2 successive games for a Watford side that are struggling to stay in the EPL. He most recently scored 6.5 points in a poor showing against 2nd place Leicester City. With a much friendlier matchup this weekend he could be a good FWD3 option. He fills up the stat sheet nicely, even with Watford’s struggles. Sarr should get a run in the side going forward, and if you are in need of a FWD3/4 he is a great option to have. Ahead of Gameweek 16, I would use a mid-tier waiver wire claim on the Watford winger.
