Week 10 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire

It’s week 10 on the EPL waiver wire, and as the season goes on, great options, especially for attacking players, become harder to come by. But those players are still there at this point in the season. Fantrax managers also should be playing to win each week, and looking at matchups against the bottom four to six teams becomes a good way to view the week ahead.

My Week 9 suggestion, David Affengruber, posted double-digit points, even without the clean sheet and with yellow. He had three shots and added defensive stats, making him an option moving forward. Xaver Schlager was subbed at half and had his worst game of the season. Joao Gomes and Jacob Murphy only made sub appearances, though Murphy created two chances in his time.

Week 10 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire

Week 10 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.

Tyrique George – Forward – 45% Rostered – Everton vs Coventry

George started the season well, then cooled off a bit, and now seems to be back in favor. He’s started back-to-back games with over 20 combined points in those two. He took three shots and had an assist. Everton have been good, and it’s a favorable home matchup. Fantrax managers looking for attacking options could do much worse. He’s aggressive and takes players on. George is one of the few viable forward options on the EPL waiver wire.

Levi Colwill – Defender – 45% Rostered – Sunderland vs Chelsea

Colwill and Chelsea travel to Sunderland, who are the last-place team in the EPL with just seven goals on the season. He’s started in eight of nine games, and they’ve kept clean sheets in two of the last three. Colwill is getting his points through defensive stats with aerials and clearances adding up, but he’s added a few key passes and is a danger in the air on corners and set pieces. They’ve got a nice set of games coming up, giving him some added value.

Mathias Jensen – Midfielder – 39% Rostered – Brighton vs Brentford

Jensen is finally starting to get back to full fitness and has now started back-to-back games. Neither of those games was spectacular from a fantasy standpoint, but Jensen has a big upside, especially if he is going to be on corners and set pieces. The Bees travel to third-place Brighton for a tough matchup, but this is a pick worth giving a couple of weeks to evaluate. The EPL waiver wire will have fewer and fewer players available who can really contribute at a high level, so taking a slight risk here, even though there’s a tough stretch of games, is worth a strong look.

Abdoul Ouattara – Defender – 13% Rostered – Ipswich vs Bournemouth

Ouattara has now gone the full 90 minutes in the last five games. He has two assists and a goal during those starts. He’s averaging over 10 points in that stretch too, with a low of four and a high of 17. He has a shot in four of those five games too. He’s getting into the attack, while still picking up points as a defender. His points are coming even though they’re being scored against. Bournemouth have won three straight, but the results of the games haven’t been a major factor in Ouattara’s points.

There were midweek games in Europe, so check injuries and team news. Have fun. Good luck.
