With most of the contending teams settled, the bottom of the standings is the place to be trawling for some fantasy basketball waiver wire gold. This week we look through the rabble of the Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons. I have also kept Aaron Holiday in for Week 11 as he is still available in many leagues.
Below are four key players likely on your waiver wire who could help you gain an advantage on your competitors for Week 11.

Week 11 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups
Gary Payton II – PG/SG – Washington Wizards (30% rostered)
Strengths: Steals
Bradley Beal went down during the week with a minor calf strain. On top of the injuries in DC, Isaiah Thomas has been suspended. Payton responded very well with the extra playing time.
In the past week Payton has averaged 11.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 0.7 blocks and an eye-popping 4.7 steals.
The steals will subside somewhat, but you should expect Payton to deliver for at least another week until the Wizards regulars are back.
Cory Joseph – PG – Sacramento Kings (15% Rostered)
Strengths: Assists
With D’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley both going down again with injury, Joseph will see an increased role in the starting five.
Joseph won’t give you much outside of assists and steals. However, he has low turnovers and fouls and plays an efficient game. If you are in a roto league, he could be a good streaming option for the week ahead if you need a solid point guard.
Aaron Holiday – PG – Indiana Pacers (36% Rostered)
Strengths: Steals & 3 pointers
I’m keeping Holiday in for week 11 as he is still available in many leagues. Holiday started last week with Jeremy Lamb out. He responded nicely with solid averages of 15.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 0.7 steals. His steals numbers were down slightly on what you should normally expect. However, it appears that Coach McMillan really likes Holiday in the starting 5. This could mean a more regular role and extra minutes beside Malcolm Brogdon.
Grab Holiday if you need some back-court depth. Expect a dive in his averages when, and if, Oladipo returns though.
DeAnthony Melton – Memphis Grizzlies (27% Rostered)
Strengths: Steals
Over the past two weeks, Melton has been a top-100 player despite playing only 19 minutes per game. Dillon Brooks has been inconsistent and there are murmurs that Melton will eventually replace him in the starting lineup.
Melton will give you good steals and has been shooting efficiently (.548% FG) in the last week. He is a better long term prospect the Dillon Brooks, so it might be worth the switch now.
