Fantasy EPL Gameweek 33 Sleepers XI

For this article, we use the ownership statistics from Fantrax.  Our only rule is that each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 60% or below at the time of writing.  Therefore there’s a good chance these players will be free agents in your Fantrax Draft League!

GK: Mat Ryan

Team:  Brighton & Hove Albion

Opponent:  Norwich City (Away)

Ownership:  41%

Points Last Gameweek:  0

Prospects:  Brighton face Norwich City this weekend, who are bottom of the league and without a goal since the Premier League restart.  Therefore Mat Ryan is the ideal streaming goalkeeper for Gameweek 33!  The Australian shot-stopper is likely to keep a clean sheet and should produce a few saves as The Canaries are unlikely to create clear-cut chances.  If you need a goalkeeper for this weekend, Ryan is the easy choice for us.

DEF: Phil Bardsley

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Sheffield United (Home)

Ownership:  8%

Points Last Gameweek:  10

Prospects:  With Matt Lowton ruled out due to injury, Phil Bardsley looks set to start again for Burnley in Gameweek 33.  The former Manchester United right-back played during the Gameweek 32 victory over Crystal Palace and gained a double-digit haul mainly due to The Clarets’ clean sheet.  Despite Dyche’s Burnley squad being incredibly small and suffering from many injuries, they have actually been performing very efficiently.  Only one of the substitutes against Palace last time, Kevin Long, would be considered a senior player!  Bardsley is a really solid addition to our Gameweek 33 Sleepers XI, as Burnley face Sheffield United at home and have a really good chance of picking up yet another clean sheet.

GW33 Points Scored:  3

DEF: Dan Burn

Team:  Brighton & Hove Albion

Opponent:  Norwich City (Away)

Ownership:  47%

Points Last Gameweek: -4.25

Prospects:  Okay, so we’re going to ignore what happened at The AmEx stadium on Tuesday night.  Brighton was up against a very young, quick, and technically sound Manchester United side, and to be honest The Seagulls never really turned up.  This weekend Brighton faces a trip to bottom of the table Norwich, and has a great chance to secure the win which may save them from relegation.  The Canaries have really struggled since the Premier League restart, and therefore we’re backing Dan Burn for our Gameweek 33 Sleepers XI.  Picking a defender from a team facing Norwich has been a pretty good tactic for us recently, and giant Brighton left-back Burn is a great option this weekend.  The Brighton man is their second-highest scoring player on Fantrax so far this season, and we’re expecting a clean sheet and a fair amount of aerial wins this weekend.

GW33 Points Scored:  10

DEF: Charlie Taylor

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Sheffield United (Home)

Ownership:  36%

Points Last Gameweek:  9.75

Prospects:  After backing Burnley right-back Bardsley, we’re also backing their left-back Charlie Taylor.  We are really big fans of Taylor, and he often goes under the radar.  How a player that averages over eight points per game is only 36% owned we do not know!  Burnley have gained two clean sheets in a row with a heavily depleted squad, and face a goal-shy Sheffield United side this weekend.  So we’re going all-in on Burnely defenders, and we recommend you try and bring one or two in too.  Taylor is a really solid Fantasy EPL asset and will score pretty well between now and the end of the season.

GW33 Points Scored:  0.75

MID: Yves Bissouma

Team:  Brighton & Hove Albion

Opponent:  Norwich City (Away)

Ownership:  2%

Points Last Gameweek:  13

Prospects:  Have you noticed Yves Bissouma yet?  The central midfielder has started all three of Brighton’s games since the Premier League restart and actually started the three games prior to the suspension.  It’s pretty safe to say Bissouma’s career at Brighton hasn’t been great so far, but he now looks to have established himself in Potters starting eleven.  The Malian international gained a huge 13 points during The Seagulls 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, which really showed his potential as a defensive midfielder in Fantrax.  Bissouma registered five successful dribbles during this game too.  This weekend Brighton faces Norwich City, and we’re expecting a win for The Seagulls and another decent performance from a huge sleeper pick ahead of Gameweek 33.  Bissouma currently only has 2% ownership!

GW33 Points Scored:  7

MID: Alexis Mac Allister

Team:  Brighton & Hove Albion

Opponent:  Norwich City (Away)

Ownership:  5%

Points Last Gameweek:  6

Prospects:  We’ve had to wait a while for Alexis Mac Allister to make an impact at Brighton, but the Argentinian playmaker looks set to score big this weekend.  Mac Allister made one substitute appearance for The Seagulls prior to the Premier League suspension but has now featured in all three games since the restart.  The Brighton midfielder has started the last two games and is growing in influence with every passing minuteMac Allister played 80 minutes against Manchester United in Gameweek 32 and looks set to be a great pick for our Gameweek 33 Sleepers XI.  Technically gifted players such as this usually score well on Fantrax, and despite playing for a lower table side with a tough fixture schedule, we’re expecting Mac Allister to score well between now and the end of the season.  Norwich are unlikely to be able to handle his creativity this weekend!

GW33 Points Scored:  1

MID: Dani Ceballos

Team:  Arsenal

Opponent:  Wolves (Away)

Ownership:  59%

Points Last Gameweek: 12

Prospects:  We’re not the biggest fans of Arsenal and have been cautious regarding Dani Ceballos due to the fact that he’s currently only on-loan to The Gunners, but his performances since the restart have been really good.  The Spaniard has gained scores of 9, 8.5, and 12, and has generally filled out his stats sheet pretty well.  Ceballos now looks set to start every game in central midfield alongside Xhaka, and we would recommend bringing him into your Fantrax squad as a solid MID4 or MID5 option.  This weekend Arsenal faces a tough trip to Wolves, but confidence will be high after their 4-0 victory over struggling Norwich.

GW33 Points Scored:  5.5

MID: Moussa Sissoko

Team:  Tottenham Hotspur

Opponent:  Everton (Home)

Ownership:  24%

Points Last Gameweek:  8

Prospects:  Moussa Sissoko has been a really consistent player of late, and seems to be a favorite of Mourinho at the moment.  The French midfielder has gained scores of 10.5 and 8 in his last two games, and he looks to be an important cog in central midfield.  Sissoko is unlikely to score or assist, but he’s a player that you can plug into your starting eleven as and when required.  Tottenham faces Everton at home in Gameweek 33, and Sissoko is a good addition to our Sleepers XI.  Spurs will be desperate to put in a good performance after losing so convincingly to Sheffield United last time around.

GW33 Points Scored:  3

MID: Onel Hernandez

Team:  Norwich City

Opponent:  Brighton & Hove Albion (Home)

Ownership:  2%

Points Last Gameweek:  5

Prospects:  We’re Norwich City fans, and we’ll be the first to say that The Canaries have been really poor since the Premier League restart.  Three games played, and three deserved defeats.  Their best attacking players, Pukki and Buendia, are not performing anywhere near the level that they should be, and defensive errors are continuing.  Krul and Drmic even managed to provide the assists for Aubameyang’s goals in Gameweek 32.  So, why are we talking about Norwich in this article then?!

Well, Cuban-born winger Onel Hernandez has been one of the only bright sparks for Norwich in recent games.  Hernandez actually seems to care about playing for the club and has a very direct style of play.  Norwich are pretty much relegated, but they face a lower table Brighton side at home this weekend.  If you feel like taking a bit of a punt, bring in Hernandez this weekend!  The good thing here is that he plays in the first game of the weekend, so you can drop him from your roster if he doesn’t make the starting eleven for Farke’s side.  Take our advice and add Hernandez to your team for Gameweek 33 as he’s a wildcard addition to our Sleepers XI!

GW33 Points Scored:  8

FWD: Jarrod Bowen

Team:  West Ham United

Opponent:  Newcastle United (Away)

Ownership:  47%

Points Last Gameweek:  22.5

Prospects:  This one feels like cheating, but Jarrod Bowen’s ownership is still somehow below our 60% threshold!  The West Ham winger is a really, really good player, and has quickly adjusted to life in the Premier League.  We’ve been backing Bowen for quite some time as he scores really well for ghost points.  The Englishman bagged two assists against Chelsea in Gameweek 32, to gain his first attacking returns since the restart.  If Bowen is a free agent in your Fantrax league, please go and sign him.  He’s a FWD2 for us, and well worth trying to trade into your Draft Premier League roster if he’s not a free agent!

GW33 Points Scored:  16

FWD: Oliver McBurnie

Team:  Sheffield United

Opponent:  Burnley (Away)

Ownership:  26%

Points Last Gameweek: 18

Prospects:  Sheffield United are back!!  The Blades defeated Tottenham 3-1 in Gameweek 32, after a couple of shaky performances since the Premier League restart.  Oliver McBurnie was instrumental to this victory, as the Scottish forward scored a goal and won 12 aerial duels!  McBurnie gained a huge score of 18 points, which is even more impressive considering his lost three points due to picking up a late yellow card.  This weekend Sheffield United face Burnley, and long balls up to McBurnie are likely to be on the cards.  The battle of McBurnie and Tarkowski is likely to reward both players with plenty of aerial points!

GW33 Points Scored:  10.5
