Buy Low/Sell High – Fantasy Hockey Week 15

After 15 weeks of NHL action, some reliable players have started to play their worst hockey of the season, while others are finally starting to heat up. Listed below is the next round of our buy-low/sell-high recommendations to help fantasy hockey managers make an upcoming playoff push.

Fantasy Hockey Buy Lows

Morgan Geekie – Boston Bruins

Despite Morgan Geekie inching closer towards 30 goals this season, he’s recently entered is coldest stretch of the year within the last three weeks. Through his last 10 games, Geekie has only logged 2 assists and has yet to record a point in 2026. Moreover, the 27-year-old has fallen on the wrong side of plus/minus as of late, making now the perfect time for managers to target the left winger.

Although some may be concerned about Geekie’s recent play, a forward with 25 goals is unlikely to stay cold much longer. In addition, fantasy owners will be more willing to offer Geekie at a discount, but those looking to add him need to act fast before he returns to form.

Jakob Chychrun – Washington Capitals

Jakob Chychrun has been one of the most reliable defensemen in fantasy hockey this year, but he’s struggled to find himself on the scoresheet since Christmas. In his last 11 games, Chychrun has only been able to tally 4 points, but the 27-year-old has peripheral fantasy value that managers need to consider.

Despite his lack of production, Chychrun’s shot volume and plus/minus rating remain impressive, while continuing to collect blocks throughout the year. For owners looking for a defenseman, now is the time to take advantage of managers who have grown frustrated with Chychrun’s offensive game as of late.

Fantasy Hockey Sell Highs

Joseph Woll – Toronto Maple Leafs

Despite suffering an injury earlier this season, Joseph Woll has been one of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ best players this year. Through 18 games played, Woll has posted a .920 save percentage and has collected 11 wins, but his ice time could diminish in the near future.

In addition to Dennis Hildeby playing well, Anthony Stolarz is getting closer to returning from injury before the Olympic break, meaning the Leafs will likely roll with three goalies. Going forward, managers will be lucky to get just two starts out of Woll each week due to Toronto wanting to avoid any further injuries to their goalies. Therefore, those who roster Woll should offload him for a netminder who is guaranteed to get more starts.

Quinton Byfield – Los Angeles Kings

Quinton Byfield had been one of the most inconsistent players for the Los Angeles Kings this season, but he’s really picked up his game in recent weeks. In his last 10 games, Byfied has logged 8 points, while also being a consistent force on the face-off dot. However, Byfield has not shown that he can continue this pace just yet, and should be considered a top sell-high candidate before he begins to taper off.

Before late December, Byfield had a 10-game pointless streak. In addition, the young forward doesn’t contribute often to the power-play and hasn’t offered any peripheral value to fantasy managers, with face-offs being his only consistent stat.

With the trade deadline approaching in many fantasy hockey leagues, there’s no better time to start taking risks on part-time underperformers or letting go of temporary overachievers. Make sure to return next week for more fantasy hockey buy-low/sell-high advice.
