Gameweek 4 Waiver Wire Targets
Here we outline Fantasy EPL Gameweek 4 Waiver Wire Targets that are 40% rostered or below on Fantrax.
Nathan Collins
Position: Defender
Team: Wolves
Rostered: 16%
Next Fixture: Newcastle (Home)
Prospects: Collins and the whole Wolves defence almost completed their task of keeping the prolific trio of Kane, Son, and Kulusevksi at bay in GW3 in a heroic defensive display. Ultimately, it wasn’t to be, but Collins played well, for most of the afternoon and it looks like Wolves will continue to be defence first this season again, so some of their defenders will prove to be great value. Newcastle will be sweating the availability of “made-of-glass” striker, Wilson which could open the door for a Chris Wood start, which would, in turn, mean infinitely more aerial battles for Collins.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-2 FAB to get him.
Alex Iwobi
Position: Midfielder
Team: Everton
Rostered: 31%
Next Fixture: Brentford (Away)
Prospects: After a hard-fought draw with Nottingham Forest, Everton still look very shaky all over the pitch to be considered reliable. Their opponent, Brentford came back down to earth after a victory at Old Trafford in GW2 and was followed by a humbling defeat in GW3. Iwobi has put in all action displays in all three of the games and has seemed to be immune to the rotation/frantic rethinking every week of personnel and formation. What’s more, he has a great shot at claiming this month’s Steady Eddy Award, with 7,7, and 10 points in the first 3 games. If you need consistency in your midfield, go pick him up.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-3 FAB for him.
Sekou Mara
Position: Forward
Team: Southampton
Ownership: 11%
Next Fixture: Man U (Home)
Prospects: The young Frenchman was supposed to be one for the future, eased into the Starting XI during the course of the season. Well the former Bordeaux man had other ideas. He came off the bench in GW2 to get a great assist and started in the win against Leicester. Southampton did not look particularly great, but turned it on when needed to get their campaign up and running. Mara brings new energy to the front line and could feature regularly going forward. He will most likely be a modest ghoster, but if he manages to keep his starting job against United, he could be a decent stream. I would however temper expectations. Week in week out we try to find sub 40% rostered players and the forward pool s very shallow, so our weekly recommendations are usually more matchday pickups than players you should spend waiver capital on.
Verdict: Matchday Pickup.
