Tariq Lamptey
Position: Defender
Team: Brighton
Rostered: 39%
Next Fixture: Leicester (Home)
Prospects: After a surprise defeat mid-week, Brighton will want to bounce back quickly against Leicester on Sunday and who better to help them, than the pacey Covham grad. Lamptey has not featured as a starter this season but has had active cameos just like his mid-week 25-minute 10-pointer. With Potter’s rotation policies, it is difficult to see him providing long term value, but Leicester are close to being the worst team in the league right now based on form, so if he starts, he is worth an add.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-1 FAB to get him in.
Joe Willock
Position: Midfielder
Team: Newcastle
Rostered: 38%
Next Fixture: Crystal Palace (Away)
Prospects: A shoe-in for the August Steady Eddy award, Willock has been the model of consistency for Fantrax purposes. Gone are the 7 match scoring runs, here are the dependable yet unflattering performances. If you need a midfielder to help your team steady the floor and provide you with almost guaranteed points, Joe is your man.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-1 FAB to get him in.
Armando Broja
Position: Forward
Team: Chelsea
Ownership: 18%
Next Fixture: West Ham (Home)
Prospects: As a devout Chelsea skeptic, I have been sounding the panic bells all off-season. It turns out there are problems in midfield and attack as well as the ones seemingly solved by splashing a cool 250M on defence. A lot has been written on Havertz, Sterling and Mount not being able to provide the goals this team desperately lacks and this was evident to see midweek. However, once Broja was introduced, fortunes seemed to change. He was combative, direct and always available. He has done enough to earn a start. Whether he gets it is another matter entirely.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-1 FAB to get him in.
