Dynasty Fantasy Football TE Buys

We would all love to roster Brock Bowers or Trey McBride in Dynasty Fantasy Football Leagues but unfortunately, that is not how it works. The tight end position is easily the toughest to roster in Fantasy Football due to the number of players that actually benefit your lineup weekly vs. the long list of inconsistencies we see for Fantasy scoring.

To give a perspective of how the position looked this year, we had three players (George Kittle, Trey McBride, and Brock Bowers) average 15-ish Fantasy points per game (PPG). Two players (David Njoku and Jonnu Smith) averaged 13-ish Fantasy PPG. Another two players (Taysom Hill and Travis Kelce) averaged 12-ish Fantasy PPG. So with 32 “starting” tight ends in the NFL, only seven scored 12+ Fantasy PPG. In comparison to the wide receiver position, 19 players averaged 15+ Fantasy PPG, and 38 wide receivers averaged 12 PPG.

With this all being said, it is evident that identifying the right tight ends is way easier said than done but if you do you can have some sort of positional advantage. The off-season can be quiet for league activity, but that should not hold you back in Dynasty formats from making the necessary moves to push you toward a future championship. In this article I will give you a list of tight end trade targets to make a move for that I believe will deliver productivity to your Fantasy lineups with the hope it will lead you to a championship in the future.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax this past season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Dynasty Fantasy Football TE Buys

Tucker Kraft, Packers

2024 meant a huge sophomore leap for Tucker Kraft, who was selected in the third round by the Packers in 2023 after they selected tight end Luke Musgrave in the second round. Kraft finished 2024 seventh in receiving yards (707) for the position despite ranking 18th in targets (70), showing great efficiency in the yards per target (10.1) and yards per reception (14.1) categories. Kraft also finished second in yards per route run (2.64) and is a monster after the catch. Kraft finished 10th in total Fantasy Point scoring and scored 13+ Fantasy Points five times and 16+ Fantasy Points three times. Kraft has the opportunity to grow in Green Bay and build chemistry with Jordan Love with no clear WR1 that absorbs a large target share currently on the roster.

David Njoku, Browns

Across the last three seasons, David Njoku has shown signs of Fantasy Football dominance. After averaging 7.7 targets in 2023, Njokju upped that to 8.8 per game in 2024 showing high importance to Cleveland’s passing game. Njoku’s Fantasy PPG has trended up the last three years averaging 10.1 (#8) in 2022, 12.6 (#7) in 2023, and then 13.5 (#4) in 2024. Njoku has missed some time through this stretch but has been very Fantasy effective when on the field despite playing with a handful of different quarterbacks. The Browns have the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, so they can sort their quarterback for the future out with that pick or through Free Agency.

Jonnu Smith, Dolphins

Jonnu Smith had his Fantasy Football breakout in 2024 year one in Miami. 111 targets (#4), 88 receptions (#4), 884 receiving yards (#4), eight touchdowns (T#2), and 13.1 (#5) Fantasy PPG meant a huge year for the veteran. Smith scored over 18 Fantasy Points six times in 2024, which showed major upside and a clear connection to Tua Tagovailoa. Smith was a beast after the catch and made some big-time plays. There have been a ton of rumblings regarding Tyreek Hill’s future in Miami, so after a dominant year for Smith if Hill is gone next year it could mean even more important to the Dolphins.

Pat Freiermuth, Steelers

Pat Freiermuth has flashed some Fantasy Football potential averaging 9.3-9.9 PPG in three of his four seasons played. 732 receiving yards in 2022 and 653 yards in 2024 is another sign that he has the potential for yardage upside, along with two seasons scoring seven touchdowns (2021, 2024) which is another upside category. Muth has earned 78 (2024), 98 (2022), and 79 (2021) targets through his healthy seasons, and can operate as the #2 option in 2025 for the Steelers who should sort out their quarterback situation this off-season.

Jake Ferguson, Cowboys

In 2024, Jake Ferguson appeared in 14 games and Dak Prescott in just eight which was disappointing following a 2023 season Ferguson broke out in. In 2023 Ferguson earned 102 targets, caught 71 of them for 761 yards, scored five touchdowns, and averaged 10.4 (#10) Fantasy PPG. Ferg looked well connected to Dak as the #2 target behind CeeDee Lamb. Ferguson can truly build on his 2023 connection in 2025 with a healthy Dak Prescott.

Ja’Tavion Sanders, Panthers

The Panthers selected Ja’Tavion Sanders with the first pick of the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. While Sanders did not have a big rookie season, he still flashed some future promise. Sanders produced 61 yards in Week 7, then 87 yards in Week 9, then scored a touchdown in Week 10. What is encouraging is the rise of Bryce Young through the second half of 2024, along with no solidified playmakers on the current Panthers roster beyond 34-year-old Adam Thielen. Sanders can take a step forward in a growing Carolina offense in 2025.

Ben Sinnott, Commanders

The Commanders selected Ben Sinnott in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft after selecting Jayden Daniels in the first round. Rookie season was a year spent learning behind Zach Ertz, who Daniels targeted the second-most on the roster in 2024 with 91 total. The Daniels to Ertz connection looked solid, but Ertz is set to hit free agency at 34 years old. An Ertz departure should open up the door for the athletic Sinnott, and we have already seen the importance of the tight end position to the Commanders’ offense.

Cade Otton, Buccaneers

Cade Otton took a huge year-three leap, finishing with 87 targets, 59 catches, 600 receiving yards, four touchdowns, and averaged 10 Fantasy PPG (#11). Otton finished as the TE9 in total Fantasy Points through 14 games played. Most notable is the three-game stretch Weeks 7-9 where Otton averaged: 10.33 targets, 8.33 receptions, 86 receiving yards, one touchdown, and 22.93 Fantasy Points. For two years in a row, Otton has finished first for the position in snap share with 95.9% in 2023 then 92.8% in 2024. Aka – he does not come off the field. Otton looked well connected to Baker Mayfield in 2024, Mike Evans is getting closer to 32 years old, and Chris Godwin could leave in Free Agency which is a combination of signs for a bigger role moving forward.
