It’s early in the season, and opinions on players are all over the place. With a limited sample size so far in 2026, it’s a good time to take a big swing. Let’s take a look at some dynasty fantasy football trade ideas ahead of Week 3.
One of the best parts about being in a dynasty league is that the team-building process never stops. If you are in a win-now window, you might sacrifice some future flexibility to increase your chances today. If you have no shot at competing for the title this year, you might be selling everyone on your roster for picks or young, developmental players.
Dynasty fantasy football is not a set it and forget it format. There is always work to be done.
Are you 0-2 and already planning for next year? Do you have older players that are still productive but don’t fit your timeline? Would you be willing to take one step back this year in order to potentially take two steps forward next year?
Here are four young dynasty stars that are on the outer edges of attainable right now.

Players to swing big on in dynasty right now
Drake London, Falcons WR
The Falcons quarterback situation is dire. Tua Tagovailoa essentially could not win a quarterback competition this offseason against Michael Penix Jr., who wasn’t even practicing. Because of an oblique injury to Tagovailoa, Atlanta started journeyman backup Cooper Rush in Weeks 1 and 2. He was so bad that they turned to undrafted rookie Jack Strand out of Division II Minnesota-Moorhead late in the 3rd quarter on Sunday. Strand’s first possession at the helm ended in a pick-six.
Penix Jr. is expected to start in Week 3, but if he can’t establish a connection with London on national television on Thursday night, then you’ll have a 10-day window to really go for it.
London has just six catches for 80 yards combined in the first two weeks of the 2026 season, and I fear that he is the 2025 version of Justin Jefferson: an incredibly talented wide receiver whose stats will crater due to poor quarterback play.
If he is on a contender in your league, he may be gettable if you’re willing to pay up. Trading away a 25-year-old wide receiver who finished 10th at the position in 2024 is not an easy decision. If you want London for the long term, you are going to have to make it worth the while of his current manager. That likely means a player who can help them this season and an asset with potential future value. London is worth the big swing.
Potential offers:
* All of these potential offers may just be a starting point
- Christian Watson, Packers WR and a 2027 2nd-round pick
- Mike Evans, 49ers WR and Bhayshul Tuten, Jaguars RB
- DJ Moore, Bills WR and a 2028 1st-round pick
De’Von Achane, Dolphins RB
In 2025, Achane finished as the RB5 in fantasy football with over 1,800 combined yards and 12 touchdowns. That was then. This is now.
The Dolphins are in the midst of a massive overhaul of their roster, and Achane is one of the few carryovers. Through two games this season, he has yet to find the end zone and is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. For his career, he has averaged 5.5.
Achane has superstar potential and could return to form next season as the Dolphins add more talent. Are you willing to overpay for a below-average Achane season this year in the hopes that he performs more like he did in 2025 in the years to come? Taking the long-term view is tantamount to success in constructing dynasty fantasy football trade ideas.
Achane’s value has dipped significantly. He was RB5 on KeepTradeCut on September 1st. Now he’s RB9. With his value on the decline, there’s a chance that a contender is willing to part ways with Achane for a player who can help them more this season and a sweetener that might help them in the future.
Potential offers:
- D’Andre Swift, Bears RB and Caleb Douglas, Dolphins WR
- Chuba Hubbard, Panthers RB, a 2028 1st, and a 2027 3rd
- Christian McCaffrey, 49ers RB and a 2027 3rd
Colston Loveland, Bears TE
Not all dynasty fantasy football trade ideas are built the same, and this one is admittedly going to be tough. Loveland has just one catch for three yards in 2026. That’s about as bad a start as you could imagine for the 2nd-year player out of Michigan.
Because Loveland’s upside is so high (11.4 fantasy points per game from Week 9 on), I find it hard to believe that a manager would move on from him. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. He may have Case Keenum throwing him the ball on Monday night, which should only increase your chances of acquiring him.
Having a premier tight end, or, in Loveland’s case, someone who can be the TE1, is a huge advantage in fantasy. That positional edge adds up week after week and helps separate your team from the rest of the pack.
If you believe in Loveland’s potential to be the TE1 one day, then make an aggressive offer that will pay off for you in the long run.
Potential offers:
- Dalton Kincaid, Bills TE, or Isaiah Likely, Giants TE, and a 2028 1st
- George Pickens, Cowboys WR
- Breece Hall, Jets RB and a 2027 2nd

Drake Maye, Patriots QB
It has been a wobbly start for the 2025 MVP runner-up. Maye is averaging less than 10 fantasy points per game through two weeks. He is tied with Cooper Rush for the league lead in interceptions (4). His WR1 is on injured reserve. Plus, the Patriots have a first-place schedule after having one of the easiest schedules in the league last year.
Maye’s stock is down, but he was the QB2 in dynasty all offseason for a reason. In 2025, he threw for nearly 4,400 yards and 31 touchdowns without a true WR1. Not only that, but he’s also one of the most effective scramblers in the league. His 450 rushing yards a year ago were the 4th most among quarterbacks.
Bet on the tools. Maybe this is just a slow start. Swing big and hope you hit on one of the best young quarterbacks to guide your dynasty team for years to come.
Potential offers:
- Garrett Wilson, Jets WR
- Brock Purdy, 49ers QB and a 2028 1st
- Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars QB and Terrance Ferguson, Rams TE
