We have a quarter of the season in the books. It’s time to evaluate which wide receivers we should buy, sell or hold in dynasty fantasy football.
In most cases, the wisest move is to hold, but with the dynasty market always evolving, the aggressive managers can take advantage of dips, spikes and trends.
If you think you have a good chance to win your league’s title this year but need a piece to put you over the top, do it now before the price goes up at the deadline.
If you are building for the future, try to sell as many players as possible who don’t fit your timeline for picks and young players who will.

Wide Receivers to Buy, Sell, or Hold in Dynasty Football Leagues
Emeka Egbuka, Bucs WR
Do you know how many times Egbuka has had 65 or more receiving yards in the last 16 games he’s played? Just once. It was back in Week 10 of last season. That was also the only time in that stretch in which he scored double-digit fantasy points in half-point PPR.
In fact, if you add up Egbuka’s last 16 games (almost a full season), he has 53 catches, 647 receiving yards, and two touchdowns. In half-point PPR, that is good for 103.2 fantasy points.
A wide receiver with 103.2 fantasy points last season would have finished as WR55, just below Marvin Harrison Jr. (41 catches, 608 yards, four touchdowns) and ahead of Jerry Jeudy (50 catches, 602 yards, two touchdowns).
Egbuka was the WR10 in dynasty on KeepTradeCut for the majority of the offseason.
People might be talking themselves into Egbuka as a buy-low, but I have seen enough. The Egbuka we saw in the first five games of last season was the aberration.
Recommendation: HOLD, but sell if you are making a title push and get someone who can get you over the line.
Rome Odunze, Bears WR
We finally saw some signs of life out of Odunze in Week 4. He had six catches for 92 yards in Chicago’s 23-12 victory over the Jets. The Bears ran the ball 54 times, so Odunze made the most of a game script that was not favorable to wide receivers.
Recommendation: HOLD
It’s difficult to make a decisive call on Odunze with Caleb Williams still on the mend. We need to see whether the Odunze from the beginning of last year was real or just a mirage. In the first four games of 2025, he averaged 17.4 points per game in half-point PPR, and then he dealt with a foot injury for the rest of the season.
I still think you want to have as much of an explosive offense as possible, and the Bears under Ben Johnson certainly qualify. Odunze is a wide receiver to hold in dynasty.
Matthew Golden, Packers WR
Through four weeks, the Packers’ 2025 first-round pick has more fantasy points than Parker Washington, Mike Evans, and Luther Burden.
Recommendation: BUY
I was skeptical of Golden as a dynasty investment in the offseason. He played in 14 games as a rookie and finished with 29 receptions, 361 yards, and zero touchdowns. That was screaming bust.
Former first-round picks normally don’t need any luck to get an opportunity in the NFL, but that’s what Golden got. First, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks departed in the offseason. Then, Jayden Reed was lost for the season with a neck injury in Week 2. The Packers don’t have much left at wide receiver. They are essentially down to Christian Watson and Golden.
Golden is averaging nine targets per game this season and has touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. He has double-digit fantasy outputs in three of Green Bay’s four games this season.
With a defined role, expected volume, and touchdown upside, Golden is a buy in the dynasty landscape.
George Pickens, Cowboys WR
It’s been a mediocre start for Pickens this year after his WR5 finish in 2025.
Recommendation: HOLD
Pickens was also going to regress to the mean after a career year last season. I just didn’t think the regression would be this stark. He’s the WR44 through the first quarter of the season.
The good news is that he’s still getting seven targets a game (down from eight last year). Plus, he’s on a great offense. The Cowboys are seventh in the NFL in passing yards per game (258), and they were second in that metric a year ago.
Play the long game with Pickens if you have him. If you don’t, it’s worth checking in to see whether the price on him has dipped enough for you to make a move.
Davante Adams, Rams WR
The soon-to-be 34-year-old is currently WR7 on the season. He’s fifth among wideouts in yards. He’s on a great offense.
Recommendation: SELL
In two games without Puka Nacua in the lineup, Adams has 15 catches, 326 yards and two touchdowns. In two games with Puka Nacua in the lineup, Adams has seven catches for 58 yards and no touchdowns.
Adams was a regression candidate heading into the season after his 14-touchdown performance a year ago.
He is a wide receiver to sell in dynasty fantasy football leagues. Get whatever you can for him now.
DK Metcalf, Steelers WR
Metcalf is getting eight or more targets per game so far this season. That’s up from 6 1/2 per game last year.
Recommendation: BUY
Mike McCarthy’s offensive scheme is a big win for Metcalf. The Steelers are attempting nearly seven more passes per game than they did a year ago. Plus, Aaron Rodgers is throwing the ball farther down the field. His average depth of target has gone from 6.37 yards in 2025 to over 10 this season.
Metcalf is the surefire No. 1 option in Pittsburgh’s pass game (most targets, catches and yards). That is a great sign for his future success this year and beyond. The WR1 on Mike McCarthy-coached teams has had 1,000 or more receiving yards or 10 or more touchdowns in the last eight seasons he’s been a head coach.
