EPL Fixtures – August

The EPL Fixtures start with Manchester United hosting Fulham on Friday, August 16th.

Managers aim to have the best team each week, but it’s important to keep an eye on upcoming EPL fixtures as you build your team. Each month, we’ll suggest teams with the best and worst set of fixtures for the month.

It is always difficult to predict the best and worst fixtures to start the year. Teams have a host of new factors including new managers, new players, new systems, preseason form, and injuries.

For each team we’ll display the Gameweek, date, their opponent, whether each fixture is home or away, and the placement of their opponent in the league last season.

Fantasy EPL Draft – August EPL Fixtures

Here are the teams with the best set of EPL fixtures for August. It’s worth grabbing extra players from these teams over this stretch.

Liverpool

Gameweek 28/25/2024(H) Brentford16th -23/24
Gameweek 39/1/2024(A) Manchester United8th – 23/24

Liverpool have a new manager and had a positive pre-season. Mo Salah looks refreshed, and I fully expect them to get off to a flying start! Liverpool begin the year away to Ipswich who were a bit of a surprise promotion team this past season. Promoted teams have conceded a lot of goals in recent seasons. Next is a home matchup with Brentford, who struggled last season and Liverpool are extra tough at Anfield. Away to Manchester United is a tough matchup to finish the month. United do conceded lots and lots of shots last season so there are points still there, especially for Liverpool’s attacking players.

Arsenal

Gameweek 18/17/2024(A) Ipswich TownNewly Promoted
Gameweek 28/25/2024(H) Brentford16th -23/24
Gameweek 39/1/2024(A) Manchester United8th – 23/24

The Gunners get two out of three home games to start the year. While Wolves and Brighton can be much improved sides this year, I believe Arsenal’s quality will be too much for them especially at home. Both Brighton and Wolves combined to concede 127 goals last year so I like Arsenal’s chances to put up points. The Villa game will be a tricky game with Unai Emery’s side finishing 4th last season. Villa still conceded 61 goals last year so there is a high chance of goals in that game.

Manchester City

Gameweek 18/17/2024(A) Ipswich TownNewly Promoted
Gameweek 28/25/2024(H) Brentford16th -23/24
Gameweek 39/1/2024(A) Manchester United8th – 23/24

Defending champion Manchester City players should always be high on your list. Chelsea have struggled in preseason and still figuring out the team, so City should be able to take advantage. Man City get their first home game vs Ipswich which means get your City attacking players in. Los of them. West Ham away is tough but Haaland loves playing vs West Ham (4 goals in 4 appearances).

These teams have tough EPL fixtures coming up, so be cautious when looking at players here.

Ipswich

Gameweek 18/17/2024(A) Ipswich TownNewly Promoted
Gameweek 28/25/2024(H) Brentford16th -23/24
Gameweek 39/1/2024(A) Manchester United8th – 23/24

Newly promoted Ipswich have the unlucky opportunity to start with the first-place and third-place team from last year with Liverpool and Manchester City. Any points in these two games would be a success. It always takes some time to get to know the new teams in terms of Fantrax fantasy assets (Leif Davis, Omar Hutchinson). We might have to wait for the game against Fulham to get a sense of how they can do against some average teams.

Brighton Hove Albion

Gameweek #DateHome/Away + OpponentOpponent Place in League
Gameweek 18/17/2024(A) Everton15th - 23/24
Gameweek 28/24/2024(H) Manchester United8th - 23/24
Gameweek 38/31/2024(A) Arsenal2nd - 23/24)

Brighton is an exciting team to watch again this upcoming year with a new manager, Kaoru Mitoma back from injury (and hopefully Solly March), some exciting new signings (Yankuba Minteh, Mats Weiffer), and potentially more to come. Away to Everton is tougher than it may look. Everton are difficult at home and were third in goals against last season. The Seagulls play Manchester United at home and then travel to Arsenal, who were even better than Everton defensively. It will be a real test for Brighton.
