December has a heavy set of EPL Fixtures. Teams play six games in December, with multiple sets of mid-week games over the stretch.
Let’s look back at our November recommendations. Manchester United won two of three and tied the third, outscoring opponents 8-1. Wolves won the first two and lost the third, giving them some hope at the bottom of the table. Aston Villa picked up just a single point, getting shutout out in their two losses. Manchester City lost all three of their November (including December 1st) games, scoring just a single goal. showing that no team is immune to touch matchups.
For each team, you’ll see the game week, date, their opponent, whether each fixture is home or away, and the placement of their opponent in the league table at the time of writing.
Fantasy EPL Draft – December EPL Fixtures
Here are the teams with the best set of EPL fixtures for December. These players have added value based on who they are playing.
Arsenal
Game week # | Date | Home/Away + Opponent
GW 14 | 12/04/2024 | (H) Manchester United
GW 15 | 12/08/2024 | (A) Fulham
GW 16 | 12/14/2024 | (H) Everton
GW 17 | 12/21/2024 | (A) Crystal Palace
GW 18 | 12/27/2024 | (H) Ipswich Town
GW 19 | 01/01/2025 | (A) Brentord |
Arsenal have an extremely favorable run of fixtures in December despite starting with Manchester United at home. Following that opener, they face a string of relatively easier opponents including Fulham away, Everton at home, and Crystal Palace away. The month gets even better with a home fixture against newly-promoted Ipswich Town before finishing with Brentford away in the New Year. Bukayo Saka should be set to continue his huge returns during this period, while Martin Odegaard has helped them start clicking again. William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and the Arsenal defense could rack up clean sheets against the lower table teams and Arsenal’s set piece prowess ups their chances on a set piece goal or two.
Chelsea
Game week # | Date | Home/Away + Opponent
GW 14 | 12/04/2024 | (A) Southampton
GW 15 | 12/08/2024 | (A) Tottenham Hotspur
GW 16 | 12/15/2024 | (H) Brentford
GW 17 | 12/22/2024 | (A) Everton
GW 18 | 12/26/2024 | (H) Fulham
GW 19 | 12/30/2024 | (A) Ipswich Town |
Chelsea’s December schedule offers plenty of opportunities for points, starting with an away trip to struggling Southampton. While the away fixture at Tottenham presents a challenge, they then have a favorable run with Brentford at home followed by matches against Everton, Fulham, and Ipswich Town. The Blue’s attack of Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer have been in excellent form and should find joy against these opponents, particularly in the home fixtures. Chelsea’s first clean sheet since September against Aston Villa shows promising signs for their defense, and this month’s fixtures should give Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella, and the rest of the Chelsea backline plenty of opportunities to add to their clean sheet tally.
These teams have tough EPL fixtures coming up in Decemeber, so be cautious when looking at players here.
Everton
Game week # | Date | Home/Away + Opponent
GW 14 | 12/04/2024 | (H) Wolverhampton
GW 15 | 12/07/2024 | (H) Liverpool
GW 16 | 12/14/2024 | (A) Arsenal
GW 17 | 12/22/2024 | (H) Chelsea
GW 18 | 12/26/2024 | (A) Manchester City
GW 19 | 12/29/2024 | (H) Nottingham Forest |
Everton faces one of the toughest schedules possible in December. After starting with a bottom-of-the-table clash with Wolves at home, they face a daunting run including the Merseyside derby against Liverpool, away trips to Arsenal and Manchester City, and a home game against Chelsea. While they finish with Nottingham Forest at home, the preceding fixtures are extremely challenging, and should not expect huge output from your Everton players. Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski are Everton’s top two assets and are consistent despite the tough matchups, but I would be looking to avoid many streamers and starters from Everton after their Wolves fixture.
Fulham
Game week # | Date | Home/Away + Opponent
GW 14 | 12/05/2024 | (H) Brighton and Hove Albion
GW 15 | 12/08/2024 | (H) Arsenal
GW 16 | 12/14/2024 | (A) Liverpool
GW 17 | 12/22/2024 | (H) Southampton
GW 18 | 12/26/2024 | (A) Chelsea
GW 19 | 12/29/2024 | (H) AFC Bournemouth |
Fulham’s December looks like a manager’s nightmare as they navigate through a gauntlet of top-six opponents. They start with Brighton at home before facing both Arsenal and Liverpool in quick succession. While they do get Southampton at home, they then face Chelsea away before finishing with Bournemouth. Fulham have proven themselves capable of competing with any team in the league, but fantasy managers should temper their expectations during this challenging month. Alex Iwobi has been crucial in their midfield creativity, while Raul Jimenez is finding his scoring touch again. Both could see limited opportunities against Arsenal and Liverpool’s strong defenses. Antonee Robinson’s attacking runs and crossing ability make him a consistent points scorer, but clean sheets might be hard to come by against such strong opposition.
Nothing in the EPL is certain, but matchups matter.
Good luck.
