EPL Fixtures – January

January EPL Fixtures start the second half of the season. The table is tight from top to bottom with lots of surprises, and lots left to play for.

Let’s look back at our December recommendations. Arsenal went undefeated in December with three wins and two draws, outscoring opponents nine to two. Chelsea won four dominating games to start off December but had a draw and loss to end the month. Everton won just a single game in December but will be happy with the one win and the draws against top teams in the league, including four shutouts. Fulham too will be happy to escape their tough run of games with four draws and two wins.

For each team, you’ll see the game week, date, their opponent, whether each fixture is home or away, and the placement of their opponent in the league table at the time of writing.

Liverpool start 2025 with rivals Manchester United to kick off a month of quality matchups. Man United continues to struggle in 14th place while Liverpool at Anfield is almost impossible to stop, leading the league with 40 goals scored. Liverpool’s toughest matchup will be away to Nottingham Forest who sit 3rd and defensively are one of the top teams in the league, having only conceded 19 goals. To end the month, the Reds face Brentford and Ipswich who both have struggled defensively – Brentford having conceded 32 goals and Ipswich letting in 33 goals this season. Liverpool continue to rotate and use their squad but this will be another big month for your Liverpool assets, such as Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, as they continue to push to extend their lead at the top of the table where they currently sit with 42 points.

Fulham begin January with a favorable home fixture against Ipswich Town, where they’ll look to capitalize at Craven Cottage. The schedule then presents two away trips to West Ham and Leicester City, though both opponents have shown defensive vulnerabilities this season. They conclude with a home fixture against Manchester United who are 14th and still figuring themselves under Ruben Amorim. Antonee Robinson has been in spectacular form this season along with Alex Iwobi who have combined for 9 assists this season. Marco Silva continues to create a squad that competes with all the top teams week in and week out, currently sitting 8th with 28 points. The month of January should see the Cottagers climb the table and see if they can sneak into a European spot to finish the season, as they sit just one point behind 7th-placed Manchester City.

These teams have tough EPL fixtures coming up in January, so be cautious when looking at players here.

Wolves finished the month of December in good form under new manager, Vitor Pereira, but January is going to be a month to truely test their resolve. Wolves face one of the most daunting schedules possible in January with fixtures against, Arsenal, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle, who sit 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the league. While Wolves sit 17th and just above the relegation zone with 15 points, their defensive organization will be crucial during this difficult run as they look to maintain Premier League survival. José Sá could be in for a busy month in goal in terms of saves, though clean sheets seem unlikely against such potent attacks. Matheus Cunha is still a must-start despite the tricky fixtures.

Ipswich find themselves in a relegation battle after a tough December, sitting 19th with just 12 points. In January, they see themselves away to Fulham before hosting Brighton Hove Albion. Things gets significantly harder as they face last year’s champions Manchester City and current league leaders Liverpool in consecutive matches. Ipswich have struggled to score goals with only 3 goals scored in December, one of which was an own goal and their total of 16 goals is among the lowest in the league. Their leading goal scorer, Liam Delap, has six goals but has not scored since early November. Arijanet Muric has been Ipswich’s most consistent fantasy performer due to the large quantity of saves he has made. He sits 2nd in the league with 68 saves and we can expect him to be busy again this month against some of the league’s most potent attacks.

Good luck.
