Most Favorable Schedules

Indiana Pacers – DET @TOR WAS CHI

With the Pacers having the easiest schedule of the week, players outside of the must-plays become solid options. May I interest you in Jay Huff or Isaiah Jackson at the center position? Guards TJ McConnell and Ben Sheppard may do just enough to be worthy of a roster spot.

New Orleans Pelicans – CHI MEM @GSW @LAL

Herbert Jones will be missing his second consecutive game with a calf injury. Rookie Micah Peavy got the start on Sunday but failed to contribute a meaningful fantasy stat line. It’s between him, Jordan Hawkins, and G-Leaguer Micah Peavy to fill the role until Jones returns. Meanwhile, the other rookies, Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears, continue balling out and are a must-roster in any league.

Memphis Grizzlies – DEN @NOP @LAC @SAC

With another injury crisis on their hands, the Grizz are leaning on small forward Vince Williams to fill in their point guard role. In the last four games, he’s averaged 9 assists and 1.5 steals, so I guess he’s doing a good enough job at it.

New York Knicks – @BKN @CHA MIL TOR

In a four-game week, the gunners Jordan Clarkson, Landry Shamet, and Miles McBride should all be under consideration for an add. They all do essentially the same job – just shoot a lot, so pick whichever one catches your fancy.

Sacramento Kings – MIN PHX @UTA MEM

The Russell Westbrook-led Sacramento Kings are having a poor season even by their own standards, which is saying a lot. Keegan Murray has recently returned from an injury – could he be the lone bright spot on the team? Probably not, but we can dream. It really looks like the only hope for the Kings is a coach and/or GM change and a total rebuild of the team. Whether that happens on a short enough timeline to get some fresh blood onto our fantasy teams remains to be seen. Until then, we’ll have to settle for the same old guys doing a whatever job.

Usage Watch

Ryan Rollins has a 34.9% usage rate in his last three games, and with Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to miss a week or two, he should be able to keep it up. Tyrese Martin of the Brooklyn Nets had the second-highest usage increase over the past week. Followed by Dennis Schröder, Miles McBride, Nikola Jokić, and James Harden.

The biggest usage rate decreases compared to their season averages were by Ausar Thompson, Zion Williamson, Ronald Holland II, Lauri Markkanen, Jarace Walker, and Josh Giddey.
