Most Favorable Schedules

Brooklyn Nets – CHA @CHI UTA NOP

The Nets find themselves in a favourable position of playing against the most fantasy-friendly teams this week. On the other hand, though, they also find themselves in a position of not having many good players. Besides Michael Porter Jr. and Nic Claxton, no one really tickles my fancy long-term. Short-term, Egor Demin and Noah Clowney are worth a start this week.

Houston Rockets – @UTA SAC PHX @DAL

By now, it should be clear that Reed Sheppard needs to be rostered in all leagues. Somehow, he’s become an elite steals and blocks guy, somehow even more so than a three-point guy. For a big man, look towards Steven Adams – he doesn’t play that many minutes but is always good for 10ish rebounds and a block or a steal here and there.

Orlando Magic – CHI SAS MIA @NYK

With Paolo Banchero out, the Magic offense has been clicking and ticking. The guards Jalen Suggs and Desmond Bane, in particular, have flourished. Sadly, the good times may be over with Banchero possibly returning this week, though there is no publicly known timeline. Until then, Anthony Black is the in-form bench player on the Magic.

Philadelphia 76ers – WAS GSW @MIL LAL

Joel Embiid returned to the 76ers lineup on Sunday after missing the previous nine games. That will probably mark the end of the fun with Andre Drummond for the time being. Though not like Embiid won’t be missing more games. It seems that the current relevant fantasy players are Embiid, Maxey, Paul George, and Quentin Grimes. For a flyer, take a look at Dominick Barlow, who could be a solid source of big-man stats.

Usage Watch

Jett Howard of the Orlando Magic scored 30 and 13 points in his last two games with a usage% of 29.4, which marked the biggest increase of usage in the league over the past week. Will he keep it up? No, but still. Jock Landale (Memphis) had 27% usage over the past week. But with Zach Edey back in the lineup, that shouldn’t continue either. Giannis Antetokounmpo has had a 43.4% usage since returning from injury, which is even higher than his season average of 36%. Corey Kispert, Spencer Jones, Anthony Black, Tyrese Martin, Adem Bona, Kawhi Leonard, and Bobby Portis make up the rest of the top 10.

On the other side, Shaedon Sharpe had only a 23.5% usage in his two games, down from a season average of 31%. Nikola Jokić only had league-average 20% usage in his three games. Andrew Nembhard, Zaccharie Risacher, John Collins, Trey Murphy III are other notable players with a notable fall in usage rate over the past week.
