As the NBA season hits the halfway point, it becomes a very crucial time in fantasy basketball leagues. Time is running out to make the necessary moves to win the championship. It will take some key waiver wire adds down the stretch to gain ground on your competition. Let’s take a look at some of the top fantasy basketball waiver wire adds that may be available in your league.
Week 14 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds
Derrick Jones, SF/PF, Los Angeles Clippers
Jones has recently entered the starting lineup for the Clippers and is starting to pay big dividends. He has averaged 16 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, and 1.3 steals over his last four games. Looking at a larger sample size, he has averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 three-pointers, and 1.1 steals over his last eight games. He has poured in double-digit points in 12 of his last 21 games. Jones is a nice insurance policy for Kawhi Leonard owners as his durability is always a question mark. I would consider Jones a priority fantasy basketball waiver wire add in most leagues.
Luke Kennard, SG, Memphis Grizzlies
I’m actually very surprised to see Kennard still available in so many leagues. He remains a free agent in nearly 60% of fantasy leagues. He has definitely been flying under the radar based on the production he has been providing. Kennard has averaged 13.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3.1 three-pointers while shooting .531 from the field and perfect from the free-throw line over his last 13 games. He has dropped 15 or more points in four of his last 6 games. Kennard has become one of the Grizzlies’ main weapons off the bench, playing at least 20 minutes in 14 of the past 15 games. Kennard is a strong fantasy basketball waiver wire add to any team looking for points, threes, and assists.
Vit Krejci, PG/SG/SF, Atlanta Hawks
Jalen Johnson has missed seven of the last 12 games and Krejci has taken full advantage of the situation. He has become a very intriguing fantasy basketball waiver wire add by averaging 13.3 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 three-pointers, and 1.5 steals with a .514 field goal percentage over his last four games. Krejci has dished out 6 or more assists in four of his last eight contests. He has also drained three or more three-pointers in nine of his last eleven games.Â
Ty Jerome, PG/SG. Cleveland Cavaliers
Jerome erupted for 33 points last week, setting a new career high in scoring. He has averaged 16.3, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 three-pointers and 1.5 steals over his last four games. He has become one of the most important players off the bench for the Cavaliers this season, scoring 15 or more points in four of his last eight games. Caris LeVert remains sidelined with a right wrist sprain and Jerome should continue to soak up his minutes. Be sure to scoop him up off the waiver wire while you still can.Â
