With the calendar turning to March, things are getting more and more serious by the day. We are also seeing more and more injuries that shut players down for the season. While that’s obviously not ideal, it does open up value and opportunity for fantasy basketball waiver wire options.
if you’ve made it this far, there’s no reason to slow down. Let’s jump into some available players on the NBA waiver wire that can help your team down the stretch.
Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire
Precious Achiuwa, F, Sacramento Kings
Entering the 2025-26 season, Precious Achiuwa was truly an afterthought. He struggled down the stretch and in the postseason last year with the New York Knicks, and failed to gain traction in the free agent market. As it got close to the season, Achiuwa had to settle for signing with the Sacramento Kings.
From a basketball perspective, there’s not much to see in Sacramento. It’s been a rough season for the Kings as they’ve dealt with injuries and poor performances. Overall, Achiuwa is averaging 8.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, but that’s also come in 21 minutes. But now with De’Andre Hunter out for the year, there’s a real opportunity with Achiuwa.
Achiuwa is coming off a monster effort against the Dallas Mavericks. The forward finished with a career high 29 points, along with 12 rebounds, in 33 minutes of action. That was the seventh straight game that Achiuwa started as he continues to make good use of his opportunity.
This is a situation in which it doesn’t matter what your team looks like, as Achiuwa has real value. The forward has averaged 27 minutes per game after moving into the starting lineup. That has led to 14.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, and is production that shouldn’t remain on the waiver wire.
Moses Moody, F, Golden State Warriors
If Moses Moody is still on your waiver wire, he shouldn’t be. Stephen Curry is still sidelined, and while he’s slated to return prior to the end of the season, Moody still has a lot of runway left.
In his 10 games in February, Moody took advantage of all of his available playing time. The forward averaged 30 minutes per game and scored 15.9 points per game. Ultimately, it’s the scoring upside we are coming from, but Moody is a true asset from behind the arc. He’s averaging 3.3 three-pointers per game, with the good sign being that he’s shooting 48.6% from the field and 80% from the free-throw line.
With just 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, you’ll have to pick that production up elsewhere. However, Moody can add instant offense to your fantasy team, along with providing a real boost in three-pointers.
Dennis Schroder, G, Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers are surging into the postseason, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that Dennis Schroder is playing a real part in it. In fact, it’s exactly why the Cavaliers traded for him.
While Schroder can still get it done, as evidenced by his 26-point effort a few days ago, he is in a supporting role with Cleveland. In his last 10 games entering Sunday, the veteran is averaging 10.2 points and 4.7 assists per game. As the games become more important down the stretch, the Cavaliers will likely lean more on Schroder. If you are looking to fill a hole in your backcourt, this is a solid place to look.
