Our Gameweek 19 Chaps Choices article provides Fantrax managers with a Fantasy EPL Sleepers XI. Our starting eleven of Premier League differential picks will help you find a golden ticket to a big score this weekend! These hints and tips will give you a better chance of picking up an all-important victory, as one of our Fantasy EPL sleeper picks could easily make the difference in a Head-to-Head game!
We’ll be focusing on players that will bring us not only attacking returns or clean sheets, but also those players that score “ghost points” on the sophisticated and statistics based Togga scoring model!
*For this article, we use the ownership statistics from Fantrax. Our only rule is that each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 60% or below at the time of writing. This way there’s a good chance these players will be free agents in your Fantrax Draft League!
Fantasy EPL Gameweek 19 Sleepers XI
**60% ownership or below**
GK: Ben Foster
Team: Watford
Opponent: Sheffield United (Away)
Ownership: 35%
Prospects: Foster was one of the Gameweek 18 hero’s, as he made eight saves and kept a clean sheet against Manchester United. We do think Watford will concede one or two goals to Sheffield United in Gameweek 19, but Foster should make a fair few saves to reach a respectable score. Watford has kept two clean sheets in their last three games, and looks to be more solid under new manager Pearson. Sheffield United also doesn’t actually score that many goals per game, so a decent score for Foster should be on the cards!
GW19 Points Scored: 4
DEF: John Egan
Team: Sheffield United
Opponent: Watford (Home)
Ownership: 60%
Prospects: We’re not sure how a Sheffield United defender is owned at 60% at this stage of the season, but if you’re in a league where someone like Egan is free, you simply have to sign him! This weekend The Blades face Watford, and we’re backing them to gain yet another clean sheet. Watford actually played pretty well at the weekend, but we think Sheffield United and Egan will have enough to keep them out. All aboard another clean sheet for Wilder’s men.
GW19 Points Scored: 10.5
DEF: Fabian Balbuena
Team: West Ham United
Opponent: Crystal Palace (Away)
Ownership: 8%
Prospects: There are two reasons why we’re selecting Balbuena for our Gameweek 19 Sleepers XI. Firstly, West Ham faces a Crystal Palace side who do not score many goals. Secondly, Balbuena will have the opportunity to win a lot of headers now that Benteke has been re-instated back into The Eagles starting eleven. If you’re struggling for a defender pick-up for Boxing Day, West Ham’s Balbuena is a great low ownership choice.
GW19 Points Scored: 2.75
DEF: Davinson Sanchez
Team: Tottenham Hotspur
Opponent: Brighton (Home)
Ownership: 41%
Prospects: Sanchez has been a mainstay in the Tottenham side in recent months, with Vertonghen now stationed at left-back. This, in theory, provides Mourinho’s men with added stability. This weekend Tottenham faces Brighton at home and we’re backing them for a clean sheet, despite the poor performance against Chelsea in Gameweek 18. Sanchez should gain a double-digit score this weekend with a few defensive ghost points added on to a clean sheet. We highly recommend bringing this sleeper pick into your Gameweek 19 side!
GW19 Points Scored: -1.5
DEF: Dijbril Sidibe
Team: Everton
Opponent: Burnley (Home)
Ownership: 40%
Prospects: Sidibe scored a huge 18.75 points in Gameweek 18, and we’re predicting that he’ll do very well under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti. The French right-back gets forward well, provides plenty of attacking influence, and should gain a fair few clean sheets. We’re pretty high on Everton after their manager change; hopefully, the Boxing Day fixture against Burnley will be the start of a winning run! If Sidibe is taken in your Draft League, then look to defensive teammate Mina (44% ownership). The big center back should score well for aerials against Wood and Barnes!
GW19 Points Scored: 31.5
MID: Moussa Sissoko
Team: Tottenham
Opponent: Brighton (Home)
Ownership: 49%
Prospects: Sissoko is a trusted player under Moruinho, and he’s a decent option in Fantrax despite not being the most creative of players. The French midfielder puts himself about and usually has a decent floor of around six points. The fact that Tottenham faces Brighton in the early Boxing Day kick-off means that Sissoko is a risk-free punt. If he starts, then he could score well as we expect Tottenham to come back with a bang. If he doesn’t start, drop him and move on to another one of our Gameweek 19 Sleepers picks!
GW19 Points Scored: 6.5
MID: Fred
Team: Manchester United
Opponent: Newcastle (Home)
Ownership: 37%
Prospects: We backed Fred last week, and he gained an impressive 13.5 points during a 2-0 loss to Watford. The Brazilian had been putting in some good numbers in recent weeks, and he made an impressive four key passes in Gameweek 18. It looks as though Pogba will be installed into the number 10 role, enabling Fred and McTominay to continue in central midfield. If you need a trusted steady scoring midfielder in a Togga Scoring Fantrax League, look no further than Fred!!
GW19 Points Scored: 9.5
MID: Pablo Fornals
Team: West Ham
Opponent: Crystal Palace (Away)
Ownership: 29%
Prospects: Fornals has made a slow start to his Fantasy EPL career, but after three assists in four games, he’s made it into our Hot List. The Spanish midfielder is fairly dependent on attacking returns, but West Ham does score a decent amount of goals. Fornals is worth a punt in deeper leagues, as Yarmolenko and Anderson are struggling, and Lanzini is out injured. It looks as though Fornals will line up in the attacking positions alongside Antonio, Snodgrass, and Haller. Scotsman Snodgrass (41% ownership) is also worth a look if he’s been dropped by a fellow Fantrax manager.
GW19 Points Scored: 5.5
FWD: Shane Long
Team: Southampton
Opponent: Chelsea (Away)
Ownership: 9%
Prospects: Shane Long has been on terrific Fantrax form in recent weeks. The Irishman seems to have established himself in the side, and has been scoring very good ghost points. Long has averaged 12.25 points per game over the last four Fantasy EPL games! Pretty good for a forward synonymous with not scoring goals!!! On Boxing Day Southampton face a trip to Chelsea, but Long should still be good for a decent points score. Last time Chelsea played at home they lost to Bournemouth… and Southampton beat Aston Villa pretty convincingly away from home in Gameweek 18.
GW19 Points Scored: 0
FWD: David McGoldrick
Team: Sheffield United
Opponent: Watford (Home)
Ownership: 43%
Prospects: We’re backing the old faithful once again, as veteran forward David McGoldrick makes our Gameweek 19 Sleepers XI. The Sheffield United striker is an important cog in his side, and he scores well despite a severe lack of attacking returns. On Boxing Day, McGoldrick will come up against a recently resolute Watford defense, but we’re backing him to score well. He’s an ideal FWD3 for any Fantrax squad. Sarr (23% ownership) is a great alternative here, as he’s been scoring very well in recent weeks!
GW19 Points Scored: 10.5
FWD: Christian Benteke
Team: Crystal Palace
Opponent: West Ham (Home)
Ownership: 23%
Prospects: Benteke has gained two double-digit scores in his last two starts, despite zero attacking returns. The big Belgian featured in our Sleepers XI last week, as well as this week’s Waiver Wire Targets article. He’s a must-have acquisition ahead of the festive period. Benteke scores very well on Fantrax simply due to the number of aerials he wins every game!! On Boxing Day, Crystal Palace faces West Ham at home, and another double-digit return will surely be on the cards for Benteke!
