Fantasy Football 2025: Top 32 Dynasty Tight End Rankings

The development period is longer when it comes to tight ends, and there are specific things we are looking for. Perhaps the biggest problem is that what NFL teams are looking for out of young tight ends is different than fantasy managers. That certainly influences our dynasty tight end rankings as we look to build a juggernaut.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Dynasty Tight End Strategy

Only 1 Per Team

Unless you are playing in a league with interesting scoring settings, you’ll only be starting one tight end per week. That means just 12 tight ends will be in starting lineups, and the others will be available at varying levels.

Based on what will generally be on the waiver wire, fantasy football teams likely aren’t carrying two tight ends, so streaming still comes into play here. From the NFL perspective, there is an emphasis on tight ends who can block as well as receiving tight ends. Ultimately, in most formations and schemes, only one will be on the field at a time.

Development Takes a Few Years

Being a tight end isn’t as easy as just going out and running some routes or being a red zone threat. Sure, that is part of the game, and what fantasy managers are really after, but there’s a lot more to it.

Tight ends have various responsibilities, and lining up tight to the offensive line and blocking. This is a very critical part of their role, and in fact, a liability if they are unable to do so. Until this part of their game is mastered, playing time is generally limited. This has to be taken into account when considering dynasty tight end rankings.

Blocking Responsibilities Are Critical

If tight ends are unable to block, their utilization rate will be low. From a fantasy perspective, that might not matter as much as it’s ultimately targets and receptions we are after. But you have to be on the field to generate fantasy production. Roles are generally limited until all aspects of the game are mastered.

Consider Health

This is generally a critical part of the dynasty thought process across all positions. When considering veterans, those with a track record of missing games on an annual basis have to be downgraded.
