Fantasy Football 2025: Week 8 Wide Receiver Rankings

Going into Week 8, my wide receiver rankings are looking a bit different with the Week 8 bye and the loss of Mike Evans. Yes, Evans is not going to continue his 1,000-yard streak. However, that means whoever drafted Emeka Egbuka hit the jackpot. Egbuka has been amazing this year, but now with Evans out for the season, it is a sure thing that Egbuka will continue to get the volume he has been getting.

Some other things to look out for in Week 8 are; no Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Brian Thomas Jr. There is a chance that you have one of these wide receivers on a bye and need a replacement option.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Let’s start with Rashee Rice as my WR3 going against the Commanders. Rice jumped back into the number one option after missing the first six weeks of the season. Rice led the team with 10 targets, while Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown both had four, and Travis Kelce had three. Rice ended the day with seven receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns. His yardage is not that impressive, but he was the one getting the redzone targets. I expect Rice to have another big game this week as the Commanders just gave up 110 receiving yards and a touchdown to CeeDee Lamb.
  • Next, I have Keenan Allen as my WR20 going against the Vikings. Allen had a huge day against the Colts last week, going for 119 yards and a touchdown. This, however, was Allen’s first game over 100 yards, and I don’t expect him to do the same this week. The Vikings are only giving up 21.8 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Yet, he does break the top 20 based on his touchdown upside. He now has four touchdowns through seven games.
  • Lastly, I have Kayshon Boutte as my WR33. Boutte has been hot the last couple of weeks, but he does have a tough matchup against the Browns this week. Boutte does have touchdown potential, but he is only averaging 3.5 targets per game. All signs point to a flex start at best this week.
